In the caption of the Instagram post, he wrote, "An old white woman got on the train and immediately pointed at me and told me to correct how I was sitting. I refused, so she went to the conductor and complained. The conductor called the police and stopped the train," he said.

O'Keefe also says in the caption that the friend of the woman who called the police had said to him, "You're not the minority anymore."

A separate video about the incident has been uploaded by the user, Nalae, on TikTok, where it has quickly gone viral, having been viewed over 160,000 times as of reporting.

They said I was disturbing the peace by not leaving the train. They pulled me off the train and arrested me without even talking to the Karen who reported the one black person on the train. On the platform, the police detained me and interrogated me. Only black folks stayed nearby and recorded the arrest. When I demanded a lawyer and reminded them they didn't even take a statement from the woman who complained they eventually released me. This country is growing more psycho by the day. What will you do about it?"

Jimmy Kimmel will return to air on Tuesday after his show was suspended following comments he made about the death of Charlie Kirk, Disney has said in a statement released in the last few moments.

"Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country," the statement says.

"It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive. We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu offered a heated response to the news that the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia had officially recognized the state of Palestine.

“I have a clear message to those leaders who recognize a Palestinian state after the terrible massacre on October 7: you are giving a huge reward to terrorism,” Netanyahu said in a statement. “And I have another message for you: it will not happen. A Palestinian state will not be established west of the Jordan River.”

Survey by American Association of Professors shows nearly quarter of respondents are switching due to states’s politics

Many professors in the US south, particularly in Florida, South Carolina and Texas, are considering leaving their state because of the impact the political climate is having on education, according to a new survey by the American Association of Professors.

The survey received responses from approximately 4,000 faculty members across the south and included other states, such as Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky, in its findings. About 25% of the professors in Texas who responded said they have applied for teaching roles in other states in the last two years, with another 25% saying they intend to start a search.

Last year, salary was the top reason as to why educators across the south were seeking employment elsewhere. In this year’s findings, however, “broad political climate” was the top motivator.

In the video of the incident, which the family said occurred on Tuesday, the mother can be heard demanding her daughter's return.

"They took my daughter, she's 5 years old. She has autism spectrum," the woman says in the video. "Give me my daughter back."

The mother also explained that her daughter's father "managed to run back into the parking lot of my house, but they grabbed the girl."

The family said ICE agents challenged Edward Hip, a Guatemalan man who has lived in the United States for 22 years, to leave his home for his daughter.

"Is that your daughter? Come here so I can see those IDs," an agent can be heard saying in the video, which shows him motioning toward the camera.

"Hey, I can give it through the door," a man is heard saying in response.

"You can do it right here," the agent says, pointing to the ground in front of himself.

The mother reported alleged harassment by the officers.

"They threatened us, saying that if we didn't open the door within 15 minutes, they would enter the house," she told Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra.

Leominster police arrived at the scene, recovered the child and returned her to the family.

Radosław Sikorski upbraids Moscow for being “incapable of living in peace” with its neighbors following a series of incursions into NATO airspace.

Russia shouldn't complain at the United Nations if its missiles or aircraft are shot down after entering NATO airspace, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski warned Moscow on Monday.

Sikorski was speaking at an emergency session of the U.N. Security Council in New York. The summit was convened after three Russian military jets entered Estonian airspace for 12 minutes on Sept. 19 before being repelled by Italian F-35s representing NATO.

"I have only one request to the Russian government: If another missile or aircraft enters our space without permission, deliberately or by mistake, and gets shot down and the wreckage falls on NATO territory, please don't come here to whine about it," Sikorski said. "You have been warned."

Not to be outdone, Sikorski sent a further barb Moscow's way in New York: "We know you don't care for international law, and you are incapable of living in peace with your neighbors. Your insane nationalism contains a lust for domination that will not cease until you realize that the age of empires is over and that your empire will not be rebuilt."

Road and Track

It doesn’t take too hard a look to realize the automotive industry in the United States is in a bit of a weird place. Not only are product plans and regulations seemingly in a state of constant flux, but the price of a new car has never been harder to swallow. In fact, according to a new report from the Consumer Federation of America, U.S. buyers currently owe more than $1.66 trillion in auto-related debts.

The auto debt situation is nothing new, as Americans on the whole are generally dependent on vehicles that are too expensive for most people to buy outright. Combine that with the fact that the average prices of both new and used cars are higher than they’ve ever been, and it's no surprise people are forced into borrowing large sums. That said, this recent report points out some concerning trends.

According to the report, the average car payment in the States is now around $745, with average loan amounts totaling over $41,000; nearly 20 percent of buyers have found themselves with payments of more than $1000 a month. Loan terms are also creeping back to rates similar to those before the Great Recession, with one in five buyers stretched out on a seven-year term. We’ve even seen the return of the eight-year loan, which all but disappeared following the sub-prime lending crisis.

Speaking of the Great Recession, auto buyers are also defaulting in their payments in ways we haven’t seen since 2008. Delinquencies on payments are almost on par with pre-crisis figures, and have dramatically outpaced the rates experienced during COVID. An analysis of the New York Fed’s consumer credit panel found that buyers in 2024 with an above-average credit score (620-679) were twice as likely to fall behind on payments than they were prior to the pandemic. That's particularly true of buyers aged 18-29, who, according to the report, are falling into serious delinquency (90 days late or longer) more than older generations. Repossessions were also up 43 percent from 2022 to 2024, representing the highest rates since 2009.

Things aren’t much better on the used car side of things. Prices were up 6.3 percent year-over-year as of June, continuing the trend started during the supply constraints of the pandemic. Furthermore, one-in-four trade-in vehicles have negative equity attached, meaning that people are upside down on a large portion of the cars on sale today.
