Apparently we can register as a liberal to vote in the upcoming leadership race. What does it mean if I register? What do I gain (besides the aforementioned voting) and does it place any kind of restrictions on me (e.g. am I prevented from doing the same with a different party)?

I’ve used Nextcloud for a long while but only for cloud storage and photo backup from my phone. I’ve moved the latter to Immich and just replaced the cloud storage with Seafile.

So far everything is hunky dory but I was wondering if anyone who’s run Seafile for longer has any insights for things to watch out for with it. I’m following the documentation backup solution and I’m the only user (so the whole db/file de sync during backup isn’t an issue)

Obviously there's the most viewed of all time, which would count, but there's also thousands of absolute classics that are lesser known. I can only recall some because they made a specific impression on me. There should be a community to archive those and pseudo-rank them through upvotes.

If there isn't one, nobody steal my idea, I'll make one on sh.itjust.works.

Also I would be remiss if I didn't mention lemmy.myserv.one here. I had never seen Streets 1:12 until I saw it referenced in one of the many entertaining taglines that u/Thief added to the server and I decided to check it out. What a rush!

Ok I've finally been able to create the community. FYI if you're making a community, don't use capital letters in the URL name. You can use it in the display name though. I'll give some time for people to post their stuff.

New Democrat MP Charlie Angus is calling on Elections Canada to launch an investigation into Elon Musk and his social media platform X, saying he is concerned about potential interference by the tech billionaire in the next federal election.

In a two-page letter to Chief Electoral Officer Stéphane Perrault, Angus said Musk has been playing a role in recent elections in a variety of countries, donating millions of dollars to conservative candidates and using X, formerly known as Twitter, to amplify the political messages of candidates he favours.

"He has formed alliances with right-wing populist leaders, amplified extremist influencers and spread hate disinformation towards marginal groups," Angus wrote.
