What are the best co-op games you enjoy? Anything from the modern games, to the old games.

For me, I'm aiming for PC games, or a game that can be easily emulated like PS2 games or GameBoy Advance.

Main focus, is that you are supposed to play 2 players or more (and are actually fun to play) with little to no internet. (Trying to prepare in advance)

A senior Israeli official accused of child sex crimes in the United States has failed to appear for a scheduled court hearing in his case, weeks after he returned to Israel, prompting concerns that he may have fled to avoid facing trial.

The Israeli official was arrested on August 6, but the incident was not made public until more than a week later, when the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced an undercover operation “targeting child sex predators”.

Alexandrovich was released and allowed to return to Israel after being charged with luring or attempting to lure a child online to engage in sexual conduct.

Bosnia on Thursday called an early election in its autonomous Republika Srpska to replace outgoing president Milorad Dodik, who was stripped of his powers earlier this month after a court found he had flouted decisions made by the international peace envoy. Dodik has called the elections "meaningless" and predicted mass demonstrations in the Serb-majority statelet.

Can yall recommend your favorite 3rd party Discord client (desktop) that enables the high quality screen sharing normally only available to Nitro subscribers? I found this list but there's quite a few options, so I don't know where to start

Edit: forgot to specify I’m mainly gonna be using it on Windows but Linux support is cool too

The UK’s broken nutrition policy is endangering a generation – it’s time to fix our failing food system

Government nutrition policy is developed by civil servants, who direct the Scientific Committee on Nutrition (SACN), a committee of supposedly independent experts to find evidence to support UK nutrition policy.

An article last year in the British Medical Journal (the BMJ) caused something of a flurry in the nutrition world. It highlighted links between the members of SACN and the global food and drink industry. For example, someone in the subgroup on maternal and child nutrition is being paid over £5,000 a year by an American company that makes infant formula.

Someone else in the main committee is getting paid by Danone, the Almond Board of California, Alpro, Nestlé, the Dairy Council, The International Nut and Dried Fruit Council and Yakult, and is also a member of the American Society for Nutrition which is funded by companies like Kellogg’s, PepsiCo and Hershey. The potential financial conflict of interests suggest that the experts are not necessarily either ‘independent’, or unbiased.

This is why people in the UK are getting fatter and fatter like the people in the USA

And the civil servants themselves seem to be terribly attached to old theories and debunked ideas. They continue to demonise saturated fat, despite a growing body of evidence that it does not cause heart disease.

About that ineffective policy

Between 1996 and 2020 the UK government implemented 689 policies intended to tackle obesity. Not a single one of them has had any beneficial impact; obesity (and the bad health that goes with it) has just gone up and up and up.

Then there is the Eatwell Guide, updated from the Eatwell Plate in 2016. It’s supposed to show what everyone should be eating. Most of the ‘experts’ that worked on the Eatwell Guide came from the food and drink industry rather than the supposedly unbiased civil service.

It continues to promote the high carbohydrate, low fat diet that UK policy has been based on for several decades, even though it is probable that that policy has been a key driver in the obesity epidemic

Eat more carbohydrates, Eat more carbohydrates, Eat more carbohydrates, Eat more carbohydrates,.

Here is where the promotion of the ketogenic diet needs to sit.

When Caron Morse’s 9-year-old daughter asked for a smartphone last year, her reaction, she told me, was unambiguous: “A hard ‘Hell no.’” Morse is a mental-health provider in the Portland, Maine, public-school system, and she was firmly against smartphones, having seen how social media and abundant screen time could shorten students’ attention spans and give them new anxieties. But she wanted her children to have some independence—to be able to call friends, arrange playdates, and reach out to their grandparents on their own. She also needed a break. “I was so sick,” she said, “of being the middle person in any correspondence.”

So when her daughter turned 10, Morse did get her a phone: a landline.

For that gift to provide all the benefits she wanted, Morse had to lay some groundwork. It would be annoying if her daughters—she also has an 8-year-old—were to start calling their friends’ parents’ smartphones all the time, so she told her neighbors about her plan and suggested that they consider getting landlines too. Several bought in immediately, excited for the opportunity to placate their own smartphone-eager kids. And over the next couple of months, Morse kept nudging people. She appealed to their sense of nostalgia by sharing photos of her older daughter sitting on the floor and twirling the landline’s cord around her fingers. She wrote messages: “Guys, this is adorable and working and important.”

The peer pressure paid off. Now about 15 to 20 families in their South Portland neighborhood have installed a landline. They’ve created a retro bubble in which their children can easily call their friends without bugging a parent to borrow their phone—and in which the parents, for now, can live blissfully free of anxieties about the downsides of smartphones.

In the past few years, interest in old-school technology has been rising, driven partly by desperate adults seeking smartphone alternatives for their kids. Fairs peddle “dumb phones” to parents of tweens. On Reddit, one parent shared that they’d gone “full ’90s,” with a desktop computer installed in the living room, a Nintendo 64, and a landline. In March, after a Millennial mom posted on Instagram about getting a home phone for her kids, she received scores of comments from parents saying they’d done the same—or planned to soon.

I have been hearing about this keyboard recently. And man do I look stupid how I underestimated the low-profile mech keebs.

My first experience with low-profile universe was Keychron K3 back in 2020 or smth. And honestly, I was quite underwhelmed by that thing. It was not a bad keyboard. But the sound and the feel was no where near as good.

The sound is creamy and the feel is on the light side, which I didn't expect I prefer. But the number is the cruel evidence. With my Crush 80 Pro, I was getting 85 at-best. And with Flow Lite, I'm getting over 100 consistently what the hell?! i'm so confused.

This is only one day in and I'm already feeling like this is the true end game keyboard for me.

Btw i got the pink one. And it looks awesome!!
