I'm sorry but it's true. Graphene OS sucks the big one.... It's absolutely janky when it comes to its Android app support, it's UI is absolutely atrocious, and all around. It's simply a wonky operating system.

Not only that but the whole premise of of making an operating system built only for Google pixel hardware on top of Android Open source project is just silly when it comes to the idea of "privacy". That would be like trying to open up a gay nightclub in Qatar. Google could snap its fingers tomorrow and lock down the ability to unlock bootloaders.

What do you think? Am I wrong here guys?

In a letter to European Commission Vice President Henna Virkkunen and Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration Magnus Brunner, the countries stressed that they have been facing hybrid threats from Belarus and Russia, including instrumentalisation of migration, for more than four years.

The letter noted that in recent months some drones have entered the territory of countries in the region with explosive devices, with incidents occurring even near civilian areas, posing a direct threat to residents.

The letter was signed by the interior ministers of Estonia – Igor Taro, Finland – Mari Rantanen, Latvia – Rihards Kozlovskis, Lithuania – Vladislav Kondratovic, and Poland – Marcin Kierwiński.

Last week, a flying object crashed into a cornfield near Osiny, eastern Poland, and exploded, shattering windows in nearby homes. Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz later confirmed that the object was a Russian drone.

The parent company of American alcohol producers such as Jack Daniel's whisky and Woodford Reserve bourbon says sales to Canada dropped 62 per cent during the latest fiscal quarter compared to a year ago, as American alcohol remains off the shelves in many provinces.

After U.S. President Donald Trump imposed tariffs on Canadian goods in early March, a number of provinces retaliated, pulling American alcohol from store shelves. Alberta and Saskatchewan have since lifted the ban.

During a conference call with investors Thursday, officials with Brown-Forman — the parent company of brands such as Jack Daniel's and Woodford Reserve — noted other pressures, but said the boycott is causing a "significant impact."

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the secretary of health and human services, is endangering the health of the American people now and into the future. He must resign.

Mr. Kennedy and the rest of the Trump administration tell us, over and over, that they want to Make America Healthy Again. That’s a great slogan. I agree with it. The problem is that since coming into office President Trump and Mr. Kennedy have done exactly the opposite.

Why do official clerks not have the equivalent of a calculator like engineers do but for inference? The fundamental idea of this paper is for ChatGPT-like apps to lose natural language for less energy consumption and more determinism in their answers based on controlled natural languages like ACE; and to capture this new paradigm in a new type of browser that has natural language as its primary interface, here called a semantic web-first browser. The idea is proposed in several design steps, beginning with a simple to use calculator-like program to do inference with natural language (pocket-inferer), for which, when a programmer-mode is turned on, transforms into an IDE-like ACE-editor. The idea is then further developed into a semantic web browser, which can also reference data and queries from the semantic web and later, it is philosphised how a web-paradigm agnostic SemanticWebBrowser could be realized.

This poses a fundamental anthesis to ChatGPT-like apps and LLM-centered visions for the WWW with the biggest merit being to tradeoff natural language for more precision and less energy-consumption through controlled natural language. The five main points this paper makes are:

    1. AI browsers with their high energy consumption are not suitable for daily usage (not in the near future, if ever).
    1. There has not yet been found a sufficient interface for the semantic web to be appealing to end-users and reach wider adoption
    1. Controlled natural language like ACE could serve well as a main interface for semantic data, because they manage to capture the potential of semantic web data better than any visualization ever could
    1. The best application for this approach would be a new kind of browser, which realizes “language as an interface” for the semantic web
    1. Derived from language as the main interface, the browser needs to center around the interaction with language and therefore look like a text editor or IDE.
    1. While showing the merits of the semantic web, the browser should also be “backwards compatible” with the traditional world wide web.

It is largely based on the following work: Kaarel Kaljurand. “Attempto Controlled English as a Semantic Web Language” (2007).
