Oh. He didn't just shove her in the freezer, she had died of cancer and was frozen cryogenically. (#SavedYouAClick)

So he wasted a lot of money and then moved on and society is mad at him about it because society is what it is.

Edit: also, 30-year-contract? What's he think is going to happen in a matter of 30 years?

It means (at least in theory) that they'll keep her frozen for 30 years, instead of changing direction and letting her melt after 5.
