In every game. Nothing specific. Everyone higher than me is a sweat, everyone below is stupid.

The only possible exceptions I can think of are fish(I imagine gills and mouth are not connected but don't really know). I am excluding bacteria and viruses and I believe they don't really breath(correct me if I'm wrong).

"We expect every Republican who voted for the budget resolution to hold a town hall during recess on what parts of Medicaid and SNAP they want to cut," said the national director of the Working Families Party.

I wrote a few useful utility bots back in the old days when reddit was a thing.

I just remembered them now, thinking it'd be useful to write a new one to help some of our art communities. (More on that latet)

Is there a bot framework, or similar for lemmy? Some docs? Some boilerplate code maybe? Just something I can sink into and learn.

Thanks so much

The news of the tragic death of Gene Hackman (RIP!) reminded me that even tho I had always wanted to watch it, I had never seen the French Connection. I did a web search to find out who was streaming it, and I noticed in the search results that archive.org had it on their site. Just Watch said on their site that Amazon Prime could stream it for free. My wife has a Prime account, so I made a mental note and decided to go to Archive.org and watch it there since I'm sitting at my computer. It loads up and starts playing, no problems, and then at about 10 minutes in, my browser throws an error, and Voila! just like that the video is gone, suddenly no longer available. I get immediately suspicious and log in to Prime, and no, in fact, I cannot stream it for free, but I can rent it for $3.99. Nobody on this planet can convince me that Amazon's greed didn't have something to do with it getting yanked from Archive.org...

Opportunistic assholes.

This is a throwaway because by the nature of the question you might be able to guess enough about my identity to figure out who I am. I accept that risk but I would like to know opinions from others. I would note that I'm asking because I want to know if I should change things, not because I want to confirm my already-existing opinion.

I'm a white male millennial in the USA. My name has closely been associated with the word "cracker" since early childhood, not in a racially-related way (AFAIK). I don't really like "cracker" in combination with my name, but I suppose it grew on me. Ever since college I started naming things "cracker*" when I couldn't think of something better. The biggest example is what started as using it for my wifi name ("crackernet"), and grew with my home network and homelab.

I knew growing up that white people were called crackers and I didn't think much more of it because for effective purposes I was already called cracker when I met someone new anyway. I recently learned about why:

It has been suggested that white slave foremen in the antebellum South were called "crackers" owing to their practice of "cracking the whip" to drive and punish slaves.

That's really something I don't want to be associated with, especially before someone has met me. It would be fine if it was something I kept private because I know how it originated for my usage, but my wifi name is broadcasted to my neighbors and anyone who is close enough to my home. It's important to me to not unnecessarily offend others and I don't want someone to be thinking about slave drivers because of my unintentional naming choice.

So, could it be offensive for me to use the word "cracker" in this way?

I'm experiencing an issue with the Default sort for Posts setting. Here's a scenario of how the issue plays out:

  1. I adjust my Default sort for Posts setting to be Active through the Settings menu.
  2. I close the and reopen the app, and it opens to Active.
  3. I change the current sorting method to something else, e.g. TopSixHour, using the drop-down menu in the top-right of the app.
  4. I close and reopen the app, and it opens to TopSixHour. Additionally, the option for Default sort for Posts has been changed to TopSixHour in the Settings menu.

I've only noticed this since recently getting a new phone, going from a Pixel 7 to a Pixel 9. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app and that did not fix the issue.

Under the new budget resolution, the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which oversees Medicaid and other healthcare programs, has been tasked with cutting at least $880 billion over the next decade. This move would allow states to impose work requirements on Medicaid beneficiaries, a controversial provision that could result in millions of people losing coverage. States may also be forced to make up for the funding shortfall, likely leading to stricter eligibility rules, benefit reductions, or higher out-of-pocket costs for enrollees.

The resolution also mandates $230 billion in cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), potentially removing millions of low-income Americans from food assistance programs. Critics argue these cuts disproportionately harm the most vulnerable, including children, seniors, and people with disabilities.

The interval between the onset of symptoms and death has been 48 hours in the majority of cases, and “that’s what’s really worrying,” Serge Ngalebato, medical director of Bikoro Hospital, a regional monitoring center, told The Associated Press.

The latest disease outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo began on Jan. 21, and 419 cases have been recorded including 53 deaths.

According to the WHO’s Africa office, the first outbreak in the town of Boloko began after three children ate a bat and died within 48 hours following hemorrhagic fever symptoms.

After I had just bought mine I went to study abroad, and while I was waiting at the airport I played few online matchs of Dead By Daylight with one of my friend and realized how great of a device the steam deck really is!

Later on I managed to complete dozens of games that were rotting in my library that otherwise I wouldn’t bother playing on PC.
