A massive aviation industry clearinghouse that processes data for twelve billion passenger flights per year is selling that information to the Trump administration amid the White House’s new immigration crackdown, according to documents reviewed by the Lever.

The data — including “full flight itineraries, passenger name records, and financial details, which are otherwise difficult or impossible to obtain” for past and future flights — is fed into a secretive government intelligence operation called the Travel Intelligence Program and provided to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other federal agencies, records reveal.

Details of this program were outlined in procurement documents released Wednesday by ICE, which is a division of the Department of Homeland Security.

More than that, it's the cloud services from Google, Amazon, and Microsoft that worry me. Many IT shops are dependent on these services, so if the US regime decides to f- around with that, many companies outside will be screwed.

Yah! I had one too. I miss that toy.

80s and 90s kids will remember this, and it's making a comeback as a novelty item. No storyline, no visual and auditory stimuli, just a simple challenge to hook all the rings in the posts (extra points for achieving color patterns), so it's up to your imagination to fill in the rest. Real randomness, too, not subject to some random number generator. A real zen gaming experience.

Pros: no batteries needed. Cons: risk of water spillage, occasional refills needed.

The Princess Bride. It's got fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles...

Thanks! I corrected the title. Good to know it's also on Steam.

From a game design perspective, this is a fine example of how to set up progression, all done at various levels -- the abilities, the opponents, the character stories, and the location reveals. Not too difficult in game mechanics but does take time to complete. From Google Play.

Caution / spoilers: some stories touch on death and suicide, and there are some creepy visuals and characters. Be aware when letting kids play, as you may need to give them some guidance.

Silence will fall.

An older title which I missed the first time around but recently discovered. Makes one think about how subways are designed.

LEGO comes to mind. Not cheap, but definitely knows how to keep a healthy and active relationship with their customers.

Smoothest brew I've had in a while, no hint of sourness or bitterness.

Insert obligatory welcome statement here.

What's worrying about this report is that it's coming from Google itself.

With Russia's full-scale invasion in its third year, Sandworm (aka FROZENBARENTS) remains a formidable threat to Ukraine. The group’s operations in support of Moscow’s war aims have proven tactically and operationally adaptable...

...Mandiant continues to see operations from the group that are global in scope in key political, military, and economic hotspots for Russia. Additionally, with a record number of people participating in national elections in 2024, Sandworm’s history of attempting to interfere in democratic processes further elevates the severity of the threat the group may pose in the near-term.
