I had the Samsung version shit itself. 20 cent ribbon connector blew, Samsung refused to replace it, and instead wanted to replace BOTH screens and the hinge for $600. I threw it in the landfill and bought a $250 Motorola. Idiotic, anti-R2R companies.

I don't even like trucks, but the plain interior, ev qualities, and low price is very attractive. I hope they make a kei van version, or a sedan/crossover. A smaller vehicle could be a really interesting proposition for city use.

Many already do, Kingdom Come: Deliverance is one that immediately comes to mind.

Perhaps a sonic weapon at the right frequency could crack the wires?

Fingers crossed that this is a genuine subnautica 2 and not another BZ.

1 is great with co-op mods, though it's about as janky as one might expect. Still, it was a lot of fun building bases with friends, and going on submarine adventures.

Can we exert more influence over China if we work with them?

We thought the same thing back in the late 90s and early 00s. It didn't work out very well for us. It gave them the economic and technological means to surveil their people and build up their military, while we benefited from cheap goods, but at the cost of losing our manufacturing base and electing someone who probably has serious brain damage. Who will now run our country into the ground.

All in all, I expect serious damage to our country, and China to go after Taiwan with their considerable military to grind up their young men, who have no chance of ever having a family after the one child policy screwed up their gender balance so badly.

If you have to hitch yourselves to another state, I recommend Europe over China.

Honestly, we just have to speedrun vehicles that are so insanely large and so expensive that they physically cannot fit into most American cities/streets/parking garages.

Looking forward to our inevitable evolution towards eKei cars and ebikes, heheh.

[–] Wahots@pawb.social 1 points 20 hours ago

That's why ebikes are considered better than analog bikes by some metrics. Outside of electrified trains, there's pretty much nothing as efficient as an ebike for distance /calories burned + electricity usage (minimal, compared to EVs)

This is why I started ebiking. I'm usually going up steep hills, or hauling groceries or other stuff. Having an ebike totally changed the math on whether I need to actually drive or not.

Whole generations of young people, and older people just retiring now. It will be interesting to see how this plays out, it's usually very interesting when historic leaders have pissed off massive amounts of their constituents.

Can you imagine actively sabotaging your company, putting it in severe financial distress, then telling your boss that you aren't supposed to take meetings with them because your coworkers told you that there could be "disagreement"?

Because this is actively what he's doing, lol.

Perhaps he should grow a pair listen to his constituents. And then grow a fucking spine so he can stand up to this horseshit.

Anyone that doesn't should be voted out next election. We don't have time for this nonsense with the stakes so high.

Your best bets for fluoridated toothpastes are probably sensodyne, unless you can find these more obscure brands.

I hope they continue to test more adult pastes!

These tortoises can live till 200, and it's not uncommon for them to have children at such an age, even in the wild. Their numbers are growing! :)

Tonight, I attended a talk on neuroscience and brain research, and there were a lot of interesting links between memories, behavior, and mental health. So I'm doing my own little version of that in this thread. What song do you associate with happy memories, even if it's just a general feeling of happiness? Can you recall one of your oldest ones?

Go your own way, by Fleetwood Mac makes me think of fun car trips with my parents, roughly around 6-8 years old. Nothing terribly specific, though I do associate it closely with one of the city highway on ramps used to go visit relatives, go skiing, or get to the airport. :)

The two didn't believe the officers when they were informed that they were wildlife officers and bragged and their illegal hunts, their uncle's illegal hunts, and showed officers an illegal turtle skeleton they had in their bag.

Luckily, they are delicious and almost free.

I know the new admin isn't gonna do great things, but the money is already spent and a lot of people have already started (or in some cases, finished) these projects.

The work that has been done over the past four years has set into motion great changes for decades to come, and empowered local areas to now build on the vision and infrastructure set out by the outgoing administration. :)

RealPage, maker of YieldStar, is almost singlehandedly the ones causing rent to skyrocket across much of the United States.

One of the algorithm’s developers told ProPublica that leasing agents had “too much empathy” compared to computer generated pricing.

You can learn more about them here and why this antitrust case is so important:
