Seems rich coming from a wealthy, disabled politician. Sure, god doesn't provide sack lunches to poor kids, but he apparently does hand out wheelchairs, ADA ramps, elevators and door buttons to you?

Don't slam the door in other's faces. There's a reason why traditional America did things like the ADA and EPA.

They'll have to do a lot more than their latest stunts.

It's actually a very unique city worth visiting. It's just become crushed to death by tourists like many national parks, galleries, destinations, etc.

Oooh, I love talking animal series, a guilty pleasure of mine. I read and loved A Fire Upon the Deep and was devastated to learn the author passed away before finishing the series.

That series is genuinely through provoking sci-fi, though some elements do require a bit of suspension of disbelief. Honestly though, some characters are so interesting, it's worth a read.

Just a note of caution: the series ends unexpectedly and was never finished, though some points can be inferred at the end.

This was the second recommendation for those books! I'll definitely be looking into them, thanks :)

Oooh, if you like space operas, you might really like the Hyperion Cantos series.

Thank you, I'll keep these in mind!

I want all of north America to switch to metric. Canada is hell for that, they use an eclectic mix of both units for various things like weight, temperature, speed and volume.

I'll be so happy if cooking is finally in mL and grams instead of tablespoons and ounces, haha.

Any interesting sci Fi or magic/fantasy books that did this to you? I'm looking for something new!

TIL that crunches and situps are bad for your spine. And sitting for long periods of time.

“Negative publicity may adversely affect our stock price, damage our reputation and expose us to unexpected or unwarranted regulatory scrutiny,” UnitedHealth noted in its most recent annual report. The company’s shares have declined 40 percent over the past year.

I use Transit, but I'm always curious what else is out there, particularly for bike navigation on protected bike lanes.

I think art deco is one of my favorites. It still has a clean, modern look that ages surprisingly well, even a century later.

They grow natively, here, but not many native plant sellers seem to sell them, citing their difficulty in cultivating them.

I soaked 30 seeds for 24 hours, then planted them in a seed starter greenhouse with peat under a grow light.

Your best bets for fluoridated toothpastes are probably sensodyne, unless you can find these more obscure brands.

I hope they continue to test more adult pastes!

These tortoises can live till 200, and it's not uncommon for them to have children at such an age, even in the wild. Their numbers are growing! :)
