They're producing these 7 nm and 5 nm chips on ASML machines they bought or smuggled into the country. The problem is they can't fix them on warranty if they break and they can't figure out how to reverse engineer them yet. I'm hopefully but I'm realistic.

I've been following this story for 5 years. There's lots of hopey articles like this over that time. SMEE was supposed to release a 28-nm DUV machine last year in 2023, then 2024 summer, then 2024 December. To date no release. Most of these innovations by thr Chinese are academic discoveries that will take years further to productionize. Generally if the Chinese say they will do something new-technology-wise next year, it will happen 2-5 years after when they say it will.

It's for Reboot. Ifykyk.

The challenge more is that even if they can produce the chips, the machines they are using they can't get parts for. EUV is still out of reach. Probably another 5-8 years.

There won't be any EU forces in Ukraine. It will be funny to watch the EU jump through hoops to justify continuing the war after they're left with the corrupt Ukraine. They're fighting so hard to eat a poison pill.

3 pillows, one in the middle that's lower and 2 on the sides to keep my giant head from shifting too much to one side so my neck isn't put under pressure.

At what age do you think it's appropriate for someone with gender dysmorphia to make a decision to go through the medically assisted chemically induced transition process?

Russia has enough land they want Ukraine to be a non-NATO, neutral buffer state. It's scary because if they can't do that it seems they're fine with making it a wasteland to achieve their desired buffer.

"There is no way of predicting how the millions of Ukrainian refugees in European countries would react to their country being abandoned. Ukrainians have generally “behaved well” and are “very grateful” to those who sheltered them. They will not forget that generosity. But it would not be a “good story” for Europe if it were to “drive these people into a corner”."

Lol someone please defend this war criminal.

Good analysis of what options (or lack of) the west has with their commitment to killing Ukranians.

From the guy's own mouth.

Interesting if the CIA are prepping for an excuse to exonerate themselves from any messups in strategy they have the Ukranians; blame the people who followed our instructions for not following them well enough.

I'm excited about this MPL licensed tool and wanted to share; it's aiming to be a replacement to Notion, but self-hosted. It's not as feature rich (still in Beta) but it's a modern KMS/Collaboration tool that's looks to be on par with other proprietary options in the market. They seem to have some sort of capital backing because they have a team working on development.

My concern is how the pricing model will work and what features they will lock. They say that it will be free to self-host, but I feel like they will lock some features (most definitely their cloud service.) But if they only lock cloud hosting but allow self-hosting it will be pretty amazing for the self-hosting community.

It will be interesting to see more traditional BB forum software interconnect with other networks. All the gaming forums that will be able to cross post...

I'm just curious for the new or existing people? Lemmy.ml has taken a hard turn to the right since the reddit exodus. There's been a lot of pro-imperialist propaganda being posted on world news, and a lot less diversity of opinion. It feels more neoliberal and neo-con to me.

Does anyone want to share what their political leanings are?

I'll start; I'm anti-imperialist pro-state regulated capitalism. I believe we should have usage based taxes (toll roads, carbon tax) and luxury taxes, and I disagree with wealth taxes for people with less than $250 million. The state should spend more money on consumer protection in all industries (environment, health, finance, etc.) I believe in multipolarity vs. US hegemony.
