"Yes, I took it. Yes, I did it quickly. But as I've always said, life is first come, first served,"

"I emphasize that I won the hat because I am stronger"

Yeah this is the type of ~~sub-human~~ anti-human fascist psychology that is required to ruthlessly scam and exploit your way to the top, the central dogma of the bourgeois that is reinforced by economic rewards. This is part of the reason why capitalism is so antithetical to any form of functional, humane civilization.

The biggest difference between western European bourgeoise and eastern European ones is that no one in Eastern Europe has any illusions about them being absolute scumbags. They got rich looting and plundering the corpses of socialist states and causing widespread pain and suffering within living memory, they can't hide behind mythology like their western counterparts.

Even the tennis star tracked down the kid and gave him another signed hat, making it pretty clear that it was a specific gift to a person, and not some groundscore.

Someone should take the head of Piotr Szczerek. And not make a global scandal out of it- it's just a head.

this rich dick thinks he can win a slander lawsuit in America, what a clown

[–] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 43 points 6 days ago

Thanks to chuds and their “muh freeze peach” slander is literally a time-honored tradition in burgerland.

[–] Cysioland@lemmygrad.ml 35 points 6 days ago

The Polish slander laws are so much worse though so he might get a few Poles with that (that's why he was talking about criminal liability because in Poland it's an actual crime)

[–] Collatz_problem@hexbear.net 23 points 6 days ago (1 children)

He has so much money, he can even hire hitmen and get away with this.

Fair game to go up and kill him then.

I mean, if you succeed, it means you're stronger.

It would be absolutely hilarious if a stolen hat set off a string of Luigi's.

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 25 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Burns would have been too feeble to yank the hat away from anyone

[–] tombruzzo@hexbear.net 21 points 6 days ago

Bro is like "I took the hat because I was faster. The world is not a kind place."

Then literally in the same quote "Saying mean things is slander and I'll sue you if you're mean to me."

[–] godlessworm@hexbear.net 28 points 6 days ago

some people deserve to die horribly

[–] larrikin99@hexbear.net 25 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I've had to deal with this fake quote on every one of my feeds since yesterday. Please don't post stuff like this on Hexbear, and if you're a Bear who believed this was a real quote, do some self-crit so you can be more skeptical in the future.

[–] casskaydee@hexbear.net 16 points 6 days ago (1 children)

How do you know that it's fake

[–] larrikin99@hexbear.net 31 points 6 days ago (2 children)

because I don't trust someone to be so remorseless and inflammatory in way that self-sabotages, so I notice the source isn't coming from any official account, indeed, it's an unrelated account posting a jpg without any source. I check to see what the alleged source of the quote is, if there's a polish version, etc. I check newspapers, and see none of them are verifying the statement, and the tabloid papers which include the quote say it's "alleged". I check other comments which are calling the post fake, and see none of the replies contain any refutation.

[–] Dirt_Possum@hexbear.net 16 points 6 days ago

Thanks for pointing this out. Some thoughts:

I don't trust someone to be so remorseless and inflammatory in way that self-sabotages

But such remorselessness and being inflammatory is becoming increasingly normalized because it often does not result in self-sabotage. This is a fairly extreme case (as far as how Monty Burns-esque it is), but there are plenty of other examples that are nearly as bad, maybe worse, where many people end up rallying behind the side of evil to defend the poor smol bean ultraprivileged. Especially since the initial theft really did happen, the piece of shit really did steal the hat meant for the kid, I don't blame casually-scrolling hexbears (including me) for flatly believing the additional bit to be true, until you pointed out that it's most probably not.

That said, since you did check this out and it looks like it's fake, that doesn't surprise me either and I'm glad you caught it and brought it to everyone's attention. Thank you. I also agree that everyone would do well to double check this sort of thing for veracity as much as possible. Unfortunately most of us don't really have the time to do that with every single meme story that gets posted, it's just not feasible. It's reasonable to assume that if it's being posted here it's probably real, but that's only because this site has a good history of being trustworthy about these things, mostly because there are a fair number of people like you who do look into it for the rest of us, especially when posting it. It is mostly the onus of the person making the post to double check that what they're posting is legit, but I can also understand if Posadas thought he was getting this from another reputable source and just didn't take the time to look into it before posting. He really should have though.

He allegedly has decided the incident is such bad PR that he felt the need to issue an "apology".

Did anyone stop to think that the kid is less of a victim than everyone is making him out to be? He had front row fucking tickets to the US Open. The kid is obviously the child of some other fucking parasite that hoards money.

Fuck them both.

[–] LupineTroubles@hexbear.net 61 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Children can be victims both incidentally and circumstancially while born to privilege, their victimization even if minor doesn't require rationalization this way especially when the man in question is so obviously and clearly in the wrong.

[–] wetbeardhairs@lemmy.dbzer0.com 27 points 6 days ago (1 children)

That kid is really a 600 year old Hapsburg that cracks open orphans and drinks their adrenochrome to stay young. Don't be naive.

Sure and I’m sure the kid is a little shit. But he’s a kid. So critical support to the child vs the adult scum

[–] SuperNovaCouchGuy2@hexbear.net 33 points 6 days ago (39 children)

Its less about the kid and more about how there exist "people" in this world who have fallen to such depths of depravity due to biological (psychopathy) and economic factors that they quite literally snatch candy from children.

Sorry, I have it on good authority that your parents did bad stuff, so actually you should have been strangled in your crib.

[–] BeanisBrain@hexbear.net 18 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

Bit weird to get this mad at what appears to be a prepubescent child, no matter how rich his parents are.

[–] FortifiedAttack@hexbear.net 18 points 6 days ago (5 children)

Yeah but at the end of the day it's just a kid. He didn't choose to be born into wealth.
