I'm currently scraping the Steam barrel and I could really use these ports:

  1. Gravity Rush Remastered/Gravity Rush 2: best traversal in gaming. Surprisingly fun combat too. Just pure joy all around.
  2. Viewtiful Joe: integral Kamiya core and probably the closest on this list to actually happening seeing the Clover revival.
  3. God Hand: I have nothing new to add here. All I can do is reiterate the "beat'em goat" claim.
  4. The Red Star: PS2 hidden gem—mix of beat'em up and twin-stick shooter. Proper action game rooted in arcade design principles.
  5. Ketsui: again, all I can do is reiterate the "shmup goat" claim. Criminal this is not on Steam. Come on, M2.

Alternate editions of games we already have on Steam:

  1. Catherine: Full Body: extra stages is cool, but I need the online Colosseum.
  2. Ninja Gaiden II: ugh, this one is obviously never happening at this point. I swear, even if they try a third time, they'll most likely find some way to mess it up.

Definitely never happening: Pikmin. Nintendo suck.

I've been going fucking wild with emulators lately.

I have Dolphin, Xenia, OpenGOAL, PCSX2 and RPCS3. I have Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic Heroes, Sonic '06, all the Ratchet & Clank PS2 games, the Sly Cooper trilogy and Sly 4, all the Jak games, the first two InFamous games, the Tak trilogy, and even more.

I was wanting Sony (or someone) to port at least Sly and Jak to PC, so I got tired of waiting and just got emulators. Old games are super fun.

Infamous 1 and 2, I'd love a remake to be honest but I'll take a simple port.

[–] iAmTheTot@sh.itjust.works 11 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

Final Fantasy Tactics, ideally the War of the Lions version.

[–] Ashtear@lemm.ee 1 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Rumors abound for a remaster of this one, but I'm gonna start thinking it was a casualty of SQEX's recent restructuring if it doesn't surface this year.

[–] iAmTheTot@sh.itjust.works 1 points 9 hours ago

Those rumours are a decade old at least. I don't believe stuff like that anymore until its out, lol.

[–] TheLowestStone@lemmy.world 1 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

That one you could just emulate.

[–] Stovetop@lemmy.world 2 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

You can, though from personal experience it can be a bit finicky if you're trying to emulate the better PSP version. There are some optional patches that can be applied to it to improve stability, but it still crashes on me a few times in PPSSPP.

A native PC release would have been nice to have. It's one of the few FF games still not available on PC/Steam.

Alternatively, one could grab the Android version and try to run that on PC through the now-deprecated WSA, but the mobile port is touch input only with no controller support.

[–] iAmTheTot@sh.itjust.works 2 points 12 hours ago

I have the android port already and have tried to get a reliable way to play it on PC and it's just too much of a pain in the ass 😅

[–] iAmTheTot@sh.itjust.works 1 points 12 hours ago

I'd prefer native.

[–] secret300@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 11 hours ago

Gravity Rush is such a banger I just downloaded the second one on my PS4. I beat the first one on my Vita a while back but I don't really remember how it ends so I might replay that before I start the second one.

[–] ampersandrew@lemmy.world 2 points 11 hours ago

Viewtiful Joe is a good one.

I think I have an inordinate amount of nostalgia for Metal Arms: Glitch in the System and 007: Agent Under Fire. Both are locked to consoles. The campaign and multiplayer of Metal Arms are all-timers, and while the campaign is fairly basic for Agent Under Fire, the multiplayer, especially with all of the modifiers turned on, is some of my favorite FPS multiplayer ever.

I'd also like a PC version of Soul Calibur II with rollback, please, Bandai-Namco. I don't care if the series stops there; this is really all I want or need from this franchise. Especially if you can just reskin Link and put his functionality in the game alongside Heihachi and Spawn.

  1. Astrobot: Yeah I know is exclusive because PlayStation BUT I would love to play it on PC ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  2. Infamous: Second son: Loved in when I watched a gameplay but it's a share it was never released on PC
  3. All the Pokémon games? Never happening tho
[–] whotookkarl@lemmy.world 2 points 12 hours ago

Crush, puzzle/platformer only released on PSP and 3ds. It had decent reviews but I guess it didn't make enough money to get any ports. One of my favorites from the PSP along with Joan d'Arc and persona 3.

[–] mohab@piefed.social 5 points 18 hours ago

Nah, best they can do is Concord.

The PS2 exclusive War of the Monsters

[–] missingno@fedia.io 2 points 12 hours ago

Puyo Puyo Chronicle, the last good installment in the series, don't @ me. I'd like Sega to make a proper new game, but they're clearly never ever ever ever gonna do that, so the next best thing they could do is port a good one. What I need most is a game that's on all major platforms with crossplay.

I'm currently scraping the Steam barrel

https://www.tomshardware.com/video-games/steam-released-a-record-number-of-games-in-2024-over-18-000-new-titles-were-added-to-the-platform

Steam released 18,825 new games in 2024, beating its previous record of 14,311 last year.

That's a pretty deep barrel. For comparison:

https://www.mobygames.com/platform/playstation-4/

There are 11,274 video games on PlayStation 4. They were released between the years 2013 and 2025.

Yeah, 18k games, but a lot of that is going to be shovelware. Steam has a big issue with shovelware designed to look like a good deal. They’ll release like 25 games, one will be priced at like $100, with the rest priced at like 50¢.

Then they do a publisher bundle, which marks all of those 50¢ games down by like 90%, but doesn’t touch the pricey game. So on the surface, the bundle is marked as like $100 for 25 games, at 87% off. Looks like a great deal. When in reality it’s just 24 cheap games marked down, and one super expensive game. And all of them will be shovelware. But it’ll be enough to fool anyone who doesn’t bother to dig into the actual bundle details.

[–] mohab@piefed.social 0 points 13 hours ago

I was cursed with an extremely narrow taste in video games so there isn't a lot for me out there in general.

[–] B0NK3RS@lemmy.world 9 points 19 hours ago (2 children)

Jet Set Radio Future.

PC or console just give me something!

[–] iAmTheTot@sh.itjust.works 10 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Have you played Bomb Rush Cyberfunk?

[–] B0NK3RS@lemmy.world 2 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

No not yet. It's been on my wishlist since release :/

[–] Zahille7@lemmy.world 3 points 10 hours ago

Go get it RIGHT NOW

[–] EmptySlime@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Nine a winner. Pay the front line, take the don'ts.

[–] wizardbeard@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 15 hours ago

He's comin' out again with a good one. Place your bets now ladies and gentleman.

[–] Tattorack@lemmy.world 5 points 17 hours ago

Crash Nitro Kart. Still stuck in exclusivity hell. Also salty Toys For Bob got canned for no good reasons.

[–] matrixrunner@lemmy.world 3 points 18 hours ago (2 children)
  • Halo games after 4 (Just add them to the MCC, 343! Even as add-ons, FFS!)
  • Anything and everything by Vanillaware, but especially Muramasa: The Demon Blade
  • Rock Band 4 (I know Harmonix did a crowdfunding campaign for a PC port; I bought into it and I'm butthurt it failed)
  • Time Crisis (any and all of them, but 1-3 first)
[–] vikingtons@lemmy.world 1 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

what other games besides halo 5? ~~Also why halo 5~~

[–] matrixrunner@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago) (1 children)

Also why Halo 5

Complete the collection.

Fireteam Raven could be fun, too, but that's a pipe dream

[–] vikingtons@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago

I see. Given the general reception of the 343 games, it's a little surprising to see people ask for 5 in its entirety, though I will admit there were moments of fun to be had with H5f.

I'm not sure what fire team raven is, will need to look that one up.

[–] tynansdtm@lemmy.ml -5 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

I don't currently need any games ported to Steam. Why do you? What's so special about Steam? Or is this just shorthand (longhand) for "on PC"?

[–] mohab@piefed.social 4 points 18 hours ago (3 children)

Just convenience, really.

You could just let me be and reply with your "I need these games ported to PC" list if you have one. No reason to turn everything into an argument.

[–] tynansdtm@lemmy.ml 2 points 12 hours ago

I don't recall trying to turn anything into an argument. I just wanted to know why Steam. Don't get me wrong, Steam is good but I don't have any particular allegiance to it. I agree that it's frustrating that Catherine Full Body is console locked but Catherine isn't.

[–] thermal_shock@lemmy.world 3 points 14 hours ago

He asked a legit question. You didn't say "PC", you said steam specifically. Why does the launcher matter?

[–] Kecessa@sh.itjust.works -5 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 17 hours ago) (4 children)

People need to stop fighting in favor of a PC gaming monopoly in the hands of Valve. Shopping at multiple stores is more inconvenient than just getting everything from Amazon or Walmart, it's still bad for consumers to only have a single source for everything.

[–] mohab@piefed.social 11 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

"Fighting in favor of PC gaming monopoly"

Jesus Christ, the drama. If anything, I'm fighting for Debbie Downers like you to let me enjoy my favorite shit in peace.

I promise you when Capcom publishes Viewtiful Joe on Itch.io, I'll buy it there. Now please take your bullshit elsewhere.

[–] thermal_shock@lemmy.world -2 points 14 hours ago

Damn man, you brought some serious attitude here. Take a fucking walk.

[–] Shiggles@sh.itjust.works 4 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

But have you considered the other platforms that aren’t GOG suck.

I want things on a platform that is either utterly unobtrusive, or useful. Unfortunately, that means either steam or GOG.

[–] B0NK3RS@lemmy.world -4 points 17 hours ago

Most people don't know any better and it's sad.
