Hi r/games! We’re Qloud Games, and for the last 2 years we’ve been developing Loftia, a brand new cozy experience you can enjoy in an online world with all of your friends, both old and new. We released a brand new feature trailer and Steam page just this week, and we were also featured in the 2024 editions of The Game Awards and Wholesome Snack Showcase!
Loftia is a cozy, social multiplayer online game inspired by Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing, as well as MMOs such as Maplestory and World of Warcraft. In Loftia, you can farm, forage, craft, adventure and explore as a group, form clubs or guilds with others, and customize your character, home, and even pets!
The focus of this feature trailer is our Neighborhoods, one of the many innovative features that you’ll get to experience in Loftia! You’ll be able to join your player housing and player islands with other players in order to form a Neighborhood. In your neighborhood, you can decorate your own space, or spend time helping decorate your neighbor’s houses, farm together, and more activities too - or just spend quality time hanging out! Neighborhoods can be formed with your existing friends, or you can be matched with other Loftians and make new friends.
About us
Development officially began in July, 2022 and we are now over two years into development! We’re a grassroots, indie studio, and we’ve been fighting to build our ambitious dream game, night and day. Some of our highlights along this incredible journey have been:
- Our community has grown to over 500k people across social media and Discord. (If you’re already a part of this community: thank you so much for your support! We couldn’t have gotten this far without you. For real.)
- In August 2023, we ran a Kickstarter campaign, raising $1.3m to continue development!
- Participated in a gaming startup accelerator called Speedrun and secured additional funding
- We’ve grown from just 3 people, to now 28 full-time team members
- And finally, we’re entering Closed Alpha later this month (December 2024)!
Qloud Games is a completely remote, global studio with headquarters in Australia. We’ve gathered talent from all over the world to form our super passionate and dedicated team, ready to bring Loftia to life!
Solarpunk & sustainability
Loftia is inspired by the vision of “solarpunk”, in which humans have learnt to coexist peacefully with nature. There are many gameplay systems within Loftia that are inspired by sustainable ways of living such as hydroponics farming, salvaging and recycling crafting materials, and making use of renewable energy.
There are also community projects across the game world where you can build, maintain, explore, and further develop the new world in the sky - moving towards a brighter, more sustainable future - together!

We’re also heading into our Alpha testing period later this month! Unfortunately this is a Closed Alpha and only available to backers of our Kickstarter campaign from last year, but you’ll be able to join our Early Access at the end of 2025.
