I thought putting orbital dynamics into everything in a 2D space shooter would be fun. So here, you fly a gunship in Earth orbit to shoot down the invading enemy spacecraft. Bullets go into orbit too and hang around until they hit something. Spaceships, when hit, form into small debris clouds that can create larger debris clouds. Try to defend Earth for as long as possible :)

You can play Orbital Tactics directly in the browser on itch.

Here's a space battle (gameplay footage) where I try to shoot down an enemy gunner and die a few times in the process.

I'm working on more games around orbital dynamics and space physics. If that sounds interesting, I share monthly updates on my newsletter, come join! :)
