Found this on reddit and decided to share. Here's the text from the author:

Hey pirates, I made this fully open source movie/tv shows app.

It's available for Android, Windows and Linux.

Main goal of the app is to reduce the headaches of watching and searching for movies. I always hated checking if a movie is out for downloading, then check each torrent site to download it or check each streaming site to watch it. So I made this app to make this process more enjoyable.

The app is currently on version 1 with minimum features to get started.

Features right now:

  • New released torrent files for movies and tv shows.
  • Ability to search for a movie and watch it from different providers or look it up on different torrent sites.
  • Default movie app features like watchlist, favorites and ratings.

Plans for future:

  • Adding a torrent downloader and qbittorrent remote inside the app. i Adding a recommendation system based on requested details

I accept feature requests either here or on GitHub issues.

See screenshots for desktop version on GitHub.

I want to use myanonymouse to download/seed books but it requires you to download from the same IP as you use to browse the website. My qBittorrent is in docker container on my home server, using gluetun with a VPN.

I tried both of these instructions to no avail I think there is something I'm missing. Shadowsocksqt5 latency just says "error" and using the chrome extension suggestion just simply doesn't load anything.

The reason I don't want to seed from my workstation pc is because myanonymouse requires you to seed to maintain your account and the workstation is mostly off. My home server is always on. Any ideas?

Hello all,

I have recently moved to pixel/graphene, and am looking to dump spotify.

On desktop I use Freetube and Nuclear which I really like, but I haven't found a good way to sync with mobile.

On the android side I have newpipe, pipepipe, libretube, RiMusic, SpMp, SimpmMusic, InnertTune, ViMusic.....

I'm a bit overwhelmed with options.

I've heard of cracked spotify apks but I'm not sure what the deal is with those

With that in mind please give recommendations or explain your solution. KDE connect integration is a nice plus some of these apps have but I'd be ok with using a standalone application as long as I can somehow control the music on either device.

I plan to start maintaining my library locally but I still need some kind of streaming solution.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts

I heard that it is possible to inject video containers with malware. I also heard malware is rampant on 1337x. And I don't have an antivirus to scan files for the moment cuz I'm on Linux, also it would be too much for me to upload the movie to virustotal.

I found a release that suits my need for the movie I'm looking for, but I don't know if I can trust this uploader (TGxGoodies). the number of seeders is over 120 for the movie.
the reason I'm reluctant is that a very active uploader on 1337x: IGGGAMESCOM is labeled "Vip Uploader" despite a simple search on reddit shows that there are victims for their malware-injected uploads.

pixeldrain is also one of the least sketchy download sites (that are commonly used)

they have a lemmy instance as well but I don't know if they know about all the piracy going on

One of the clearest demonstrations of how copyright is actively harmful is the lawsuit that four of the biggest publishers brought against the Internet Archive. As a result of the judge’s decision in favour of the publishers – currently being appealed – more than 500,000 books have been taken out of lending by the Internet Archive, including more than 1,300 banned and “challenged” books. In an open letter to the publishers in the lawsuit, the Internet Archive lists three core reasons why removing half a million ebooks is “having a devastating impact in the US and around the world, with far-reaching implications”.

I am asking because it frequently goes down, like once or twice every month. Even then, sometimes it takes a couple of days to get back to working. Once, it took about 5-6 days to get back to working.

Also, for about two months now, it has been in global freeleech. Being in freeleech for a week or two is okay, but for 2 months?

That's why I'm feeling it is being slowly abandoned.

I'm looking to download a number of educational youtube videos for future reference. Looking for a reliable way to download videos. OS is Ubuntu. FF extensions and docker containers all good. I don't really want to install an executable on bare metal unless it is a flatpak.

My goal is for the downloaded videos to be accessed locally via jellyfin. Jellyfin is already sorted.

Thanks in advance for your recommendations!

Do any of you have a plan in place for how to tune into the 2024 Paris Olympics? I've got a good Jellyfin ecosystem set up to watch my video files and listen to my music, but I haven't explored many ways to watch live sports content yet. What is the best way to tune in to the events at the Paris Olympics this summer? They're split across several TV channels. Smooth UX would be my priority - I'm willing to spend a little money if need be. So I was considering going for a Youtube TV free trial during the event, but is there a better method?

The European Pirate Party is doing good work addressing this bullshit :)

As of 26 June, the GitHub page is a 404. Their official Internet Archive account also no longer has any uploads.

For the past few weeks I haven't gotten any videos in a resolution higher than 480p. Anyone experiencing the same?

Which uploaders do you rely for TV show torrents?

The other day I saw a bunch of USB sticks for sale at a gas station with greatest hits of various artists and music genres and it got me thinking of physical piracy again. It's something I haven't consumed for over 15 years, but with the fall of prices of USB sticks it is completely viable economically if you do the math, and I hope it can even help game piracy.

A 64GB stick costs about 5 US dollars today, and it can carry most AAA games with a few exceptions. That's 1/12 of the full price, and if you consider the pirate will charge you another 5 dollars for his work, you will still get the game for 1/6 of the release price. But you will obviously think: why would I pay 10 bucks for a game I can download for free? Here is the catch.

There are many games that haven't been cracked lately because crackers don't have any incentive to do so other than their own self-satisfaction. If they got paid by some pirate group to do so, then things would be different. I can imagine someone in Russia making a group and paying crackers to crack a game so they can sell it for Russian gamers in the black market. If they come up with some way to make it as hard as possible for the buyers to share these cracked games among them, they could make a lot of money with this.

And here is where the anti-piracy organizations might help the organized crime. With their cat-and-mouse hunt to close online piracy groups, they will make it harder for people to share it online, making the offline piracy more attractive. Would you mind paying 10 bucks for an USB stick or 5 bucks just to copy something to it instead of paying some VPN that might not be enough to hide your traffic?

For old games this wouldn't work, because they are already very cheap on Steam, but for new releases, I can see this working, and everybody, buyers and sellers, would very happy with the money they're making and saving.

I'm considering buying a steam deck soon, and am very interested in switch emulation. The megathread doesn't seem to say much about switch emulation(unless I missed something). So are there any good and trustworthy sites for roms, DLC, keys and BIOSes? I'd love to rip them all myself but I'm too worried I'll brick my switch to attempt hardmodding.

Thanks in advance!

I'd like to automate the following things:

  1. extracting archives after download, then deleting them.
  2. moving different media to their proper media folder (e.g. Music, movies, books, games, etc.), while also creating a properly named folder (if it were compatible with Radarr naming rules it would be fantastic).
  3. (optional) if it's a bd folder or dvd folder, I want to rip the mainobject out

I don't always use jdownloader for downloading because I have different sources. I want a local standalone solution compatible with everything I throw it at it.

I looked at unpackerr but it seems it isn't really what I need.

my usuals are coming up short on a particular thing.

*edit - I found an older, modded version on Happy Mod, it is straight up the only place that has an APK for this app anymore. this is pretty bizarre
