The issue is that, UBI is a contested subject. It is the answer to what's happening with automation.

And nobody is touching it but lets continue giving these few people all the money in the world and little leftover for everyone to fight over.

That is so right up there with some of the scummiest things CEOs have ever said.

The Heinz CEO tells us to "get used to it" about inflation.

And then Nestle over there, saying about how water is not a human right.

These rich fuckheads totally operate on a different world than our own.

I am not sure what you mean.

I am taking a wild assumption of a guess by saying you probably mean where in the parts of lemmy where you can say what you want without criticism?

If so, good luck with that. There's always going to be people who'll take offense to what you say, have downvoting parades, bring up post histories and other shit. There is no single social media platform that can handle spicy unpopular opinions, even, without many people taking offense to it.

Women belong in the kitchen and are only good for making babies.

Or that's what misogynists think.

More like, the internet will have you believe that women who plays video games either is:

A porn model that just uses video games as a guise.

Or

A male hiding under a female guise who plays video games.

Information is about as rapid as money exchanges. There's so much going around because News is 24/7 and there's so many outlets that it will burn out anyone's minds trying to follow it all. It was like with the Hong Kong protests, it got traction for a while, then something else happened and it was dropped within weeks.

And we have all of these wikis in existence where the legitimacy of the articles written, are constantly challenged through the edits of those that believe differently in how it should be written to the reliable sources conflicting with those beliefs.

And we have generations of people who do not remember the time of certain events as they've happened where previous generations did. So it can be harder for someone who wasn't born around the time of Pearl Harbor and WWII to relate and take in information as opposed to the one who actually lived it.

Then we take into account of instances of history being re-written by revisionists, some sections of history is white-washed, censored, redacted .etc

Top it all off with how incredulous and sensationalist projections the media reports that just shits all over it.

And we have ourselves one big, informational train-wreck where almost nobody knows what to believe. So what most people do anymore is if a news report aligns with their beliefs, they're going to take it at face value.

I'm a Half-Life/Portal kind of player.

I couldn't get into Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike and Left 4 Dead. Those games seemed to require sharp attention spans of which I don't have for.

You could've constructed, I don't know, a better thought-out opinion. What are you, 15?

We don't need technology for that when we've got the drugs that'll do it more efficiently.

Fuck off, Saudi.

Like, I'm probably answering myself here but I think it is pointed out by gatekeepers who can't stand the idea of community growth and everything should adhere to some other unfound arbitrary way to keep things 'pure' in a community.

When they forget that they too, started out as new and that they too probably have had other people sneer at them for simply being new. So now they go around and pretend this is some kind of ultimate shut-down insult to people who're just trying to contribute to the fediverse by devaluing it by saying "OH U JUST SOME DAY OLD ACCOUNT, NOBODY SHOULD MIND THEM!".

Probably sex, for me.

I'd just do it with someone who wasn't who I originally did it with because she wasn't great in bed. The entire moment itself was just embarrassing for the both of us, moreso for me because of the time it last for which wasn't long and just her seemingly doing it to get it out of the way. There was no passion in it, it was just a matter of "oh lets get you not a virgin anymore" deal and I felt it was tainted.

That doesn't involve either masturbating or going to the bathroom.

Mine is leaving Facebook. 4 days ago it has passed its permanent deletion date, so I can no longer recover it. I've been on it for 5 years and have been off and on it a little longer beforehand. Yes it sucks that by deleting my Facebook, I've closed off the connection to my locals who are on there, who I haven't seen in 3 1/2 years because I moved.

However, I have tried giving them alternatives to keep in touch but they seemed glued to the platform. Not budging, not caring, though I didn't want to be around anymore.

I was tired of the ads that I had to keep closing, I was tired of the YouTube shorts-ripoff always shoved in my face that I had to keep closing. I was tired of seeing notifications to things that either didn't exist or was already read but I got a notification for anyways. I was tired of being recommended people I have had no intention of adding. I was tired of FB Dating, on my phone, making up a number to get me to use it again.

I was just so tired of all of this degradation that FB has become over the years to where it was outweighing whatever use I thought that there was with it.
