Their listed accounts are mostly still up, just inactive. Check bluesky https://bsky.app/profile/tirrel.bsky.social

10A is a pretty big ask. You might want a few more pins to spread that current around. What are you other pins used for. DE-9 is where I would probably start.

I just got invited to a meeting for a time zone that doesn't exist this time of year. In the US EST does not stand for Eastern time, it stands for Eastern Standard Time (~November-~March), EST is not an active time zone, it is EDT Eastern Daylight Time. Its a pointless thing, most people probably don't notice, but its wrong.

Fake internet points to anyone who knows why DB-9 bothers me.

Edit: corrected a missing n in an eastern

the next dev, Hey this obscure feature probably doesn't work, should I fix it... No, I'll just patch "temporary-fix-don't-use" and let the next guy fix it properly.

Bob Mortimer on WILTY, and I think he did it on Taskmaster too.

From the last eclipse, the difference between totality and not totality is night and day. Even at 99% you can't take the eclipse glasses off. The closer you get the more of the secondary effect you can see, like the crescent shadows, and the overall dimming. here is an interactive map. The percent for each of the lines is on the right and bottom.

Its funny how youtube has its circles. Tom scott is in the science youtube sphere, with Smarter Every Day (Destin), Technology Connections (Alec), Practical Engieneering(Grady), Stand Up Maths (Matt Parker), Steve Mould, Numberphile, Computerphile, and many, many others.

Tom Scott is Nice in this category as his videos are usually short, to the point, interesting, and weekly. He has some longer form content and game shows on other channels to. Overall if your interested in science and trivia game show youtube, he's worth a watch. His other channels are Technical Difficulties, lateralcast, and no longer used Matt and Tom.

It is the best way I can describe for how I learned how.

Look at a dog or similar and think what muscles you would use to move your ears. Try to "listen" behind you.

I do the NY Times Mini crossword (.5-2 min) and Connections (2-3 min). I sometimes do one of the puzzles featured on cracking the cryptic (up to ~90 min). I tried plusword a few times, but I just didn't get the clues most times. I used to do the set daily puzzle, but I got out of the habit. Wordle and similar never really caught on with me.

You want a black case with a side replaced by something clear. Not much variation there.

I have a sheet of paper that lives on top of my power light. Its soo bright, and its not even in my bedroom. I should throw a resistor inline there, I just can't be bothered.

My upgrade cycle is about 10 years. So many more plain options last time. I went with a Roswell R5 last time. Went with a Fractal Design Define R5 this time. Fractal was the only quality plain case I could find. My brother actually has a 330R.

These are the same companies that don't support second factors, only have their app as a second factor, or only SMS second factor. Is it too much to ask for smart card or token (yubikey) support?
