I do not like that man Ted Cruz

I do not like his far-right views

I do not like his stupid chin

I do not like his smarmy grin

It's @UniversalMonk@lemmy.world. It's always @UniversalMonk@lemmy.world, and it's so unbearably obvious that they should've been banned long, long ago because all they do is pollute this community with Russian propaganda. I don't honestly care at this point if they are or are not literally paid (their post/comment frequency is staggering if they aren't); it's nevertheless the effect they have. This community is objectively a worse place with them here.

Edit: Again, I emphasize without engaging with them and giving them carte blanche to spam even more: every single word that comes out of their mouth is dripping with disingenuity.

As opposed to a crappy content mill playing the telephone game.

Yeah, idk why that one got singled out. This is just about the effects of red wine and grape seed consumption on human digestive health.

They have played me for an absolute fool.

drivel*

Also wait, the STOP DOING MATH template isn't supposed to actually make a good point.

100% agreed. You're always welcome over at !vegan@lemmy.world if you're not already there. I imagine some of the 18:1 upvoters so far statistically haven't realized – owing to deeply rooted doublethink – that I'm also talking about something they directly pay for on a subdaily basis.

Good. Animal abuse in any form can't be part of a decent society.

President Biden on Tuesday announced $2.6 billion in funding to replace all lead pipes in the United States as part of a new EPA rule that will require lead pipes to be identified and replaced within 10 years using the new funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act.

Autumn is upon us in the northern hemisphere, and parts of the southern ought to still be pretty chilly. If you start getting cold, try tucking in your shirt. If you're wearing long pants and long socks, you can even tuck your pants into your socks, and this one's a big help too.

Why YSK: this one tip can save you a ton of money over your lifetime by lowering the threshold for when you need to put the heat on in your house, and it can make you feel more comfortable in the colder seasons. Wearing thicker clothes and layering helps, but there's only so many layers you can comfortably wear and clothes can only be so thick before you probably don't feel comfortable wearing them inside. If you're out and about, it might not be realistic or convenient to throw on another layer. This has become my first line of defense when I start getting cold. You should feel noticeably warmer within minutes.

Additional tip: if you have two shirts on, you can tuck the overshirt into your pants and the undershirt into your underpants to create a pocket of warm air that's way more insulating than if you tucked them into the same layer.

Edit: I know this is "common sense", but you'd be shocked at how many people either don't know about this or forget to use it.

Hi there! I recently created !sonicthehedgehog@lemmy.world, !metroid@lemmy.world, and !slycooper@lemmy.world for their respective series. All three of these are series I really enjoy, and it seemed like there wasn't much in the way of active communities for them.

  • Sly I could find nothing for.
  • Sonic has an SDF, .ml, and pawb.social community, but these are dead, and their moderators have not posted anything anywhere in nearly a year or more.
  • Metroid has one nearly dead community on lemm.ee which I would have posted to instead, except both of its moderators seem to be long-gone as well.

These all have the same (I think pretty lax) sets of rules, and I intend to share the rules across any retro gaming subreddits I may create going forward. I'm not looking for moderators right now only because these are starting out so small, but I'd be stoked to have you come check any of them out and contribute!
