That makes sense to me and is what I was thinking when I had this thought at the grocery store earlier. Then I wasn't sure since so many things have caffeine in them these days -- would the byproduct caffeine be enough? Another person said it's synthesized on an industrial scale, and that also makes sense, at least enough to satisfy my curiosity.

So a little from column A, a little from column B then. Thanks! πŸ™

Satiate my curiosity, please. I know caffeine is naturally occurring in many plants (coffee and tea being the most notable). But for things like energy drinks, soda, drink flavorings, and whatnot that we add caffeine to, where does it come from?

Do we synthesize it all , is it recovered from the decaffeination process we use for decaf coffee/tea? Something else?

I had the Empire State Building one, and I don't think we ever got that thing built. So many near identical pieces just made it a chore. I still liked the concept though.

Our dorms were all block walls, so didn't really matter where the speakers were pointed. If your door was open everyone could hear everything. Was always fun logging into AIM and then hearing 10 doors simultaneously creaking open down the hall πŸ˜‚

You forgot to mention the sound system hooked up instead of PC speakers and everyone's AIM sounds blasting down the hallway. Good times.

This song is stuck in my head so now it has to be stuck in yours too

That makes sense. I guess more people than me are also sick of lemon since the orange scents are always out of stock.

Is it a universally agreed-upon "fresh" smell? Cultural? Or is lemon fragrance just cheap to manufacture and use in products? Something else?

I don't hate it, but I also don't care for it, either. Now I'm curious why so many cleaning products use that smell.

It's so polite of them not to jaywalk. πŸ˜‚

Trying out a format I see in !thesimpsons@lemmy.world

1 Crisspoint for the joke or scene, 2 Crisspoints for the episode / main plot.

All points are made up and don't matter.

(unfortunately this was AI generated)

Damn it. Was going to ask if they needed a 6th ranger.

Should have gone with Del Taco wrappers.

Saw this on /c/dundermifflin@lemm.ee and figured it would be fun to do one for 30 Rock.

Seating Options / Alt Text:

  1. Between Liz and her doppelgΓ€nger friend that complains just as much
  2. Next to Frank and a now-empty sun tea jar
  3. Between Hank and Jack
  4. Between Devon Banks and Kenneth
  5. In the back next to Vlem
  6. Next to Tracy and Angie
  7. Between Jenna and Verna (who is flirting with Paul dressed as Jenna)
  8. Next to Colleen and Jonathan
  9. Next to Lutz

I wanted to make one of the options between Grizz and DotCom, but I figured that was too much of an Airplane! joke. Also, the pharmacy was out of the pills that make you see Oprah, so no sleeping through it.

At least you said "women" instead of "females" which is how these posts usually go.

Had to Google what that was, and I immediately recalled that old episode of the Simpons. I don't think they exaggerated at all.
