I only speak cantonese at home, for most of contact with society, it was English, when in the US, or during the few early years of my life in China, it was Mandarin. (But now it's just English, since its the US)

And my parents are... not very nice parents...

Emotionally abusive for my entire life, and, during the early years of my life, used "corporal punishment", but only stopped because I got older and can defend myself.

But still constantly being emotionally abusive.

And deny that my (diagnosed) depression exists, while accusing me of "faking" it. While simultaneously threatening to hospitalize me.

Also my (older) brother (who also speaks cantonese at home) is a major douchbag, very abusive to me, especially when I was younger.

grandparents are passive agressive

Like, I kinda just hate Cantonese. I mean, almost every interaction in Cantonese is with an abusive person. And with how closely related Mandarin is to Cantonese, I kinda hate Mandarin too. There's just so much conservative culture that's attached to Chinese languages, everytime I hear someone talk in Chinese, especially Cantonese, I kinda feel fear, I feel like my parents are nearby and are yelling at me.

I mean, with English interactions, there's like half good half bad interactions

With cantonese, its like almost 100% bad interactions

So like... 🤷‍♂️

Like I don't get it, he owns 9% of the shares, doesn't he still need like 42% of other shareholders to vote in in as CEO? So isn't he still subject to the will of the other shareholders? 🤔

(Disclaimer: I have no idea how this works, which is why I'm asking)

Like do cats know that humans are bigger and therefore they don't try, or do they actually like us?

And does a human yawning look like a tiger opening their mouth, or do they know that the human won't eat them?

🤔

(sorry if this question was weird 😅)

Like:

Bad thing happened = The universe made it happen, not your fault

Forgetting to do something = Well there's nothing I can do, my brain chemicals are dictated by the laws of physics

Like if I don't keep using Determism as an explantion, my brain just 🤯💀...

So... I found out a way to send encrypted messages using amateur radio.

There is an app called Rattlegram that lets you convert a string of text into soundwaves that plays though your phone's speaker. If I just use an app like Secure Space Encryptor (SSE) to encrypt a text, then copy-paste it to the Rattlegram app, then transmit that over radio, then using the same app to record the sound and reverse the process on the other end. Voila! Encrypted long(ish) range communications without a centralized server!

But I looked it up and apparantly its illegal to encrypt communications over the amateur radio bands. What are the odds of actually getting in trouble? 🤔

(To the FCC agents reading this: this is just a hypothetical, a thought experiment, I'm totally not gonna do this 😉)

What I'm saying is, in society, the corporations often do something that you just hate.

Ranging from anti consumer practices, data tracking, all the way to supporting a political candidate you dislike or even in extreme cases, going full nazi. So theres a wide spectrum of "evil" that corporations do, where along that line do you say "nope, I'm out" and boycott? I mean, we can't boycott for every minor transgression, or every thing its CEO says, because there are only like a few companies out there, so if you are too restrictive in drawing that line, you would be essentially cutting yourself off of the capitalist society, and have to grow food by yourself. So when do you boycott?

I mean like:

  • Chinese (Edit: Mandarin Chinese) will become the lingua franca of the world
  • The Internation Aviation Language will (probably) become Chinese (replacing Aviation English)
  • Lunar New year becomes a popular holiday (like Chrismas is currently popular worldwide)
  • The Internet will use mostly Chinese Chracter
  • And instead of 26 Latin based characters, you'll have to learn thousands of characters, imagine that 😅 (or just use a translator tool 🤷‍♂️)
  • There would be a China version of Hollywood, taking over the original Hollywood
  • Fengshui becomes a thing that the world starts to care about
  • UN Headquarters now located in Shanghai (I'm guessing this is the most "international" city in China, right?)
  • Boeing is dead, some Chinese airplane manufacturer now dominates, competing with Airbus.
  • Baidu is default search engine (now with less censorship due to democrarization)
  • Harmony OS (Huawei's Android fork) become the new "Apple", iPhone is now insignificant, ranking below Motorola in terms of market share.
  • Either Windows get brought by some Chinese Bussiness person, or there China makes a Linux distribution that starts off as Open Source with some proprietary components (like how Android is), then eventually becoming Closed Source once they overtake Windows. Lets call it PandaOS (I'm not creative with names 'mmkay)
  • etc...

Sounds like an interesting world 🤔

What do you think?

You used to be able to use the ##4636## trick to get a hidden menu, but now that's gone too. There's nothing in the menu that alllows you to select which network to use. I hate to keep having network disconnects and in perpetual 4G/5G back and forth and battery draining.

I use Samsung btw

Edit: For context: Its due to issues with being near the edge of the 5G zone so your phone keeps going back and forth between 4G and 5G which (I suspect), is what causes constant network disconnection, phone being hot/warm, and battery drain. Very annoying.

Edit: YOOOO I FUCKING FOUND IT

https://f-droid.org/en/packages/de.szalkowski.activitylauncher/

Search "Phone Info" --> Click the one with the phone icon --> Click again (there should be only one option --> Launch Activity --> Fina a dropdown option, change dropdown to LTE

Voila. I feel like a fucking hacker (why is this so hidden wtf Samsung?)

[crosspost]

Like this can't be just me, right? Phone constantly disconnecting, being at 80°C, and battery draining is fucking annoying. Also the option to disable 5G is gone, wtf, big tech?!?

I believe in Fediverse Supremacy!

Edit: I mean like practially speaking, he might not have been nominated again if he lost 2016... 🤔
