We don't know which would be authoratative. Yes paper trails can be used to verify votes, but the problems if only one of them is legally considered "authoratative" meaning the one that holds legal weight. State supreme courts can be partisan and say only the electronic votes are authoritative. District courts and especially the supreme court could also weight in.
So you could end up with a recount saying the electronics votes are wrong, but then the legal system could still declare the electroic votes as official.
But if we just use paper ballot only, there is only one set of ballots so then they have to be authoritative.
Damn, this is so depressing.
I mean I guess they won't have to do censorship anymore, with AI, they could just lie and say its deepfake or whatever.
