In the past I had been partial to Icelandic hosts because they're not in the 14 eyes, but they're still European so there's that to consider. There's also likely good hosts in Russia, China, etc. Other than those two countries, it would probably be a good idea to look for hosts based out of the global south, and they'd probably need servers in several countries to provide the traffic balancing large clouds offer. I haven't looked recently, but I know Panama used to have a lot of hosts. That's probably a good place to start.

Yep, it was that one. I kept hoping they'd blossom into a more interesting lib, but at least they said a couple funny things.

Ukraine is just Israel 2.0. I wonder what indigenous people they'll persecute.

You are correct, but I did say under capitalism. We are necessarily making these statements from a capitalist perspective because that's the world we live in. I probably should have clarified that statement by saying in the view of the AI owners, these things couldn't have been made along with compensating the authors. They are only profitable now because of the huge glut of free content they can absorb, legally or not.

Good analysis. It is capital, and it relies on free labor to train them. In fact, they are more closely akin to chattel slavery insofar as all the work required to feed this beast is provided for free. If they fairly compensated every original author, no such mechanism could be created under capitalism. Capitalism does not, in fact, breed innovation. Far from it. It actually stifles innovation until such a time as it can be done essentially for free, and then only for the bourgeoisie.

Further proof libs know nothing about communism. Just had one the other day try to offend me by saying "by the way, the word trump means fart". Like, ok?

That's fair, tbh.

I normally let my ADHD get the best of me and skip the introductory fluff of books, but if you're reading this one, definitely don't skip the forwards and introductions. It's a lot of extra work, but it's worth it.
