Lenacapavir will still cost $28,000 a year in the US.

Patents should allow the first generic versions of Semaglutide (Ozempic) to appear next year. Again in low income countries, not developed nations.

Are we going to see a future trend of poorer countries bettering developed countries in health outcomes?

In Australia this is going to be available under our Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme soon. Essentially the federal government would / will be the only Australian buyer from the manufacturer.

The govt will pay the commercial price, but they have vastly better bargaining power. Then patients receive it for free.

Existing anti-retro-virals were also expensive when first released. $2,000 per patient / month wouldn't be extreme.
