I honestly hope that cybernetics become just as good, if not better, than human bodies, but at the same time I would be hard pressed to willingly remove one of my appendages to replace it with a machine.

At the same time, though, I have high hopes for cybernetic organs. We truly, as a planet, as a species, need cybernetic kidneys. There are so many people on the transplant waiting list, hoping for a kidney to spare their lives from the suffering of dialysis and diabetes and kidney disease. A cybernetic kidney would save millions of lives and make hundreds of billions of dollars for whatever company invents it.
