like it matters , congress is in such disarray, plus the tarriffs, gutting agencies, all these problems will be blamed, cyclically on the dems, since conservatives are short-lived memories.

Dont forget the BBB have setup timebombs to make sure it would go off"cuts" next few elections, and gop gets to point the blame to the DEMs. Also most of the old guard dems are complicit.

its more prudent that the republicans remain in place, so they can continually be the blame for each election cycle. SInce the DNC also is culpable part of it anyways. thats why places like florida/texas new outsid of the state "boogeman" Dems to blame on, because they have no true DNC party in those state with any power.

They had fucking better lose next year.

They never care about bad things happening to people until the people is them specifically.

I remember when everybody said Hillary was gonna win easily.

I remember when everybody said Kamala was gonna win.

I really really hope Dems take the house, but I'll never be confident in these predictions.

Hillary was never going to win, because she burned the Bernie Bros. No one voted for Kamala, and after the switch, they went to their number 2 choice that wasn't her. If the DNC pulls a screwjob again against their own, they will lose. Otherwise, they might have a real chance. But I'll say that if they want to win, they need to find find Dems who speak to direct solutions to real problems and gets the government the hell out of peoples' hair. Stop with the nonsense. Talk about how you put money in people's pockets. How you'll cut taxes. How you'll restore funding to services that people care about without raising taxes. How you'll cut government costs.

Talk about fixing what's wrong, give direct solutions, and be ready to put those plans into action on Day 1. Sponsor bills, push them loudly. Denounce ~~bribery~~ lobbyists by naming and shaming. Basically, be a party of the people.

Small comment: "Bernie bro" is a term created by centrists to discredit Bernie-supporting progressives as a bunch of sweaty white dudes.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 14 hours ago

-bro is such a buzzword by centrists and conservatives.

I honestly don't think we'll ever have another real election.

And even if we do, any non-pedophile party wins will be overturned or canceled tied up in courts.

Democracy ain't a thing in the US no more. Genuinely, that concept is dead, rule of law is gone, elections don't matter, it's done, it's over. It's fucking bleak, but I don't think there is any coming back from this, and frankly, it ruins my whole day.

Yeah, every fascist regime in history fell or is in the process of falling, but this is the one that's going to beat the odds and finally take. America is so exceptional that we're the only ones who will never escape this downhill slide.

/s. Nah, man. Every slide has a bottom. Their game plan is misinformation (for the maga base), complacency (for the old school Republicans), or despair (for everyone on the left), and you've been hit by it. There's no shame in that—they've literally spent billions of dollars trying to snag you. But it's still just propaganda.

They have a weakness—in fact, they have tons of them—and the only way they get to keep on ruling is if we don't take advantage of those weaknesses. I'm not saying it's going to be fun. But they will fall; and based on Trump's failing health and rapidly crumbling coalition, it's going to happen sooner rather than later. At this point it's just a matter of how many people get hurt or killed before he's finally deposed.

Hold on tight. Only let go to reach down and pull up someone who needs help, or to punch a Nazi in the face. Immerse yourself in local action. Do what you can do— it's more than you think.

Don't take this the wrong way, but go fuck yourself. If elections, laws, voting didn't matter, people wouldn't be trying to convince you they don't.

[–] Tinidril@midwest.social 4 points 18 hours ago

And Republicans wouldn't be gerrymandering Texas.

[–] DrFistington@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago

Don't warn me with a good time...

Remember how when they have the opportunity to pass laws that support the working class, reverse the laws passed by facists or throw a tantrum throwing pedo traitor in jail for the good of the entire world they don’t because it’s against some ancient Sumatran precedent and they don’t want neo Nazis to consider them impolite….so even if they do get in they’re not going to reverse any of this or hold anyone accountable. They are going to magically have a few democrats vote against anything that would be considered progress and their new normal will be substantially farther right. Anyone progressive will have their wings clipped immediately.

They think there will be an election.

[–] tomiant@programming.dev 3 points 1 day ago

There will be the concept of an election.

It's so dark watching this happen around you, civilization sleepwalking into a dystopian pit of despair. At this point I'm feeling like nothing can stop this bar total societal collapse, and that will not be particularly pleasant either...

Pointless article
