Reddit never banned me, and yet here I am.
Maybe there's something missing in your analysis?
More like people don't want to go back to that cesspool
Reddit is a cesspool let it die. They created an AI that would flag people for saying Lugi. screw Spez
I wouldn't go as far as calling a bot that scans text an AI.
But my question. What is that word, and why would the bot be scanning for it?
A guy called Luigi shot and killed the CEO of a US health insurance provider, said provider has a history of denying claims.
The internet celebrated Luigi as a hero who punished a guy who had hurt so many others and turned Luigi into a martyr.
The ruling class did not want that and lent on Reddit to remove posts containing the name Luigi, and the media have been suspiciously quiet about the entire affair
Thank you. I can see that playing out as you said easily.
Have to admit, I tried several times to make a new account with a VPN, a different browser that should have helped with fingerprinting and other things I can't remember, they eventually found me and banned me again. One time it took 3 months to find me but I think they take your subs into account or something. IP shouldn't have mattered since I use a VPN 90% of the time.
Eventually I just didn't care anymore after using Lemmy for a while. I find the people here, mostly, to be a better crowd than that cluster fuck of dipshits. I still use one of my banned accounts to view more specific stuff that Lemmy can't quite provide yet but I haven't tried to make another account in about a year and a half.
In conclusion, fuck Reddit
Reddit does IP bans and device fingerprinting for site-wide permabans. When they banned my main account - after I deleted all my comments/posts and then deleted my account mind you, they then undeleted it all so they could ban it - within an hour of signing in to an alt account that had never made a post/comment/upvote/etc, it was also permanently banned.
It's not hard to get around these restrictions and use reddit if you do want to, but I don't want to.
I had an account get banned while I was inside of hour one while blocking all the tattler bots.
Oh, really? My first Reddit account was banned for some damn reason, without explanation or notification, I only used it for a few days, I thought it was some bug/glitch/etc, I created a new account (deleting the old one, of course) and the new account was almost instantly banned, and I only found out later that they ban new accounts to prevent people from ban bypassing. So, no, it's nonsense.
Also, appealing seems to be useless, people wait for weeks, months, even a year for their appeal to be answered.
You do realize that reddit has thought of that, and can ban you again for ban evasion pretty easily if you go back to the sub(s) that banned you.
Plus, why would I want to create another account in that shithole, even if one of my accounts were banned? Reddit's culture isn't that much better than Facebook at this point.....
They do realize, I think the majority do. Took their words too literally.
Can you think of any reasons someone might consider that last ban the final straw?
Don't want to.
I'm not here because I was banned. I'm here because Reddit ditched the way I accessed the site on my phone.
.old
That is well known here.
IP Permabanned
If you are shadow banned any new accounts will also be banned.
They banned that one too, and I don't want to have to constantly remake
I'm not banned, and no thank you.
