This nonesense just won't die, will it? These stupid LLMs won't replace anybody, they are not intelligent. Anyone who actually tried can attest to that. We are as close to actual AI as we've been for the last 20 years.

"Keep working for our benefit, you fucking peons. Train your replacements and feel thankful we allowed you to do so."

What is different here, it is going to be a lot of corporate PMC jobs. About time they feel the pain like the rest of the classes. Just another outcome of late state capitalism.

Geoffrey Hinton, whose work on AI, including at Google, has earned him the moniker "Godfather of AI", echoed those warnings on a recent podcast.

"This is a very different kind of technology," he said, pushing back against arguments that job losses from AI will be outweighed as the technology creates new kinds of positions, in a pattern seen with earlier technological leaps.

"If it can do all mundane human intellectual labor, then what new jobs is it going to create? You'd have to be very skilled to have a job that it couldn't just do."

They have to get this kicked off soon before Democrats are back in charge. It's going to be worse than most people think. China has spent years getting ready for this. Most people in USA think it's just a trendy news hype.

At least they're being honest about it.
