"The hype machine I'm getting billions of dollars to make is so amazing and economically explosive, you better make laws about it. 4 serious. I'm 4 realsy. I'm not just saying this because panic about how revolutionary my company's technology is will make me billions of dollars."

If entry-level jobs disappear, exactly how are future human roles supposed to get filled? Where will new blood come from for the intermediate and senior roles if no one can get in the damned door?

Outsource to educated and exploitable workers in developing countries.

[–] Rednax@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

If that was possible, that would have already done so. And boy did they try. So many programming jobs have been attempted to be outsourced to India. But over and over again, these ventures turn out te be more costly than hiring locals.

The plan is to let a lot of people die from the climate crisis and place the rich children in those positions.

People have been ignoring this obvious answer because it makes them deeply uncomfortable.

These days, the more an answer makes me uncomfortable, the more I believe it's probably true.

It's not even a secret, it's not even hard to find rich people saying just that.

It's simply the only thing that is going on.

We are stuck with people who think life on earth is just a way to get to heaven where everything is perfect, so they don't care what happen here.

These people are taking a lot of long term decisions in the industrialized world.

We are also stuck with people who exploit their way to power, and frankly don't care what happen in the future.

These people are also taking a lot of long term decisions in the industrialized world.

We are also stuck with the naive people who think everything is alright, because they wish it so

These people could be the balance of power but they instead choose to do nothing and sit on their hands because they think that in the end, everything will be alright.

I'm kinda depressed suddenly....

[–] z3rOR0ne@lemmy.ml 0 points 2 days ago

Do whatever you can to take care of your mental health. That said, if you're not depressed, you haven't been paying attention.

I like to think the only way tos tay sane is taking some kind of action either to better yourself or your community. Hopefully if enough people do this unselfishly, the good actions of enough people change the world for the better. And even if it doesn't, you can at least say you lived according to your own values.

But yeah, depression is kind of a given these days. Be as well as you can.

I say, AI can absorb more than 75% of CEO jobs in the next few weeks, making them obsolete in the near future. Only if implemented.

none of these fucks are describing reality when they're speaking. their diatribes are directed at FOMO-ridden financiers, listening to their bloviating rhymes with half of one ear.

a simple shorthand to keep in mind, everytime they're talking about AI, think "my dick". that's what he's doing. "my dick is so stupendously vast, I pity those poor creatures about to be ravaged by Him, oh the humanity!"

[–] sunzu2@thebrainbin.org 10 points 3 days ago

This guy is getting up there with sam the parasite. just endlessly paying fake news for this slop to keep normies talking about it.

so AI has been used a cover up the offshoring happening in entry level SWE jobs.

but normies can't read between the lines

[–] superfes@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago

AI can't even do it's current job yet, good luck everyone.
