Very fitting!
A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.
Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:
If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.
Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.
If they are attacked with non-lethal weapons or hand-to-hand: they are merely unconscious unless tossed off a fall or into a fire/pit/acid/lava/etc (and even then, sometimes falls aren't deadly if the character was cool enough. See: Boba Fett and Darth Maul).
If they are shot, stabbed, exploded, etc: they are dead.
In star wars you have to see their physical moment of life leaving them or their ghost to confirm their death. Anything else and they're able to come back.
If Palpatine had come back as a ghost would that have been better or worse? 🤔
What about getting zapped by electricity?
Is that a death by eletrocution? Or is that just like getting tazed?
If they smoke (with possible charring depending on the rating of the film) afterward, they're dead. If not, they're fine.
Exception: If you see their bones like an x-ray, even with smoking and charring: they are 100% a-ok.
Also if there eyes aren’t charred, they’re fine.
I think it's humorous how much media acts like blunt force trauma doesn't happen.
Batman has likely killed hundreds from internal bleeding.
Knocking someone in the head is apparantly equivalent to anesthesia in the media
That's the unwritten rule. Unless you see an obvious corpse, they're still alive, no matter what happened.
If they don't move for a good minute its safe to say they are dead. Most knockouts don't last long without atleast brain damage
Oh well, the protagonists hit the goons in the head, then spent 10 minutes hacking into the systems, I guess they are all dead.
But don't worry tho, the actual mastermind will always get spared. 🙃
"Did Jet just die?"
"You know, it was really unclear"
As iconic as that line is, it's always confused me. It was super obvious to me that he was dead/dying in that scene
A-Team were mass murderers
Watching fights in mma, someone who is knocked out usually doesn’t look dead.
