Hell fucking yes. I really wish we'd hurry up with this shit. Meat industry is/will try to block it.

The problem is immune systems, these have to be kept in a perfectly sterile environment, until that's fixed this is going to be much more expensive than regular meat

Tastes fake chicken nugget

“Hmmm, the quality is on par with real nuggets!”

While this is a good thing, it’s pretty funny imo

I find most fake meat disappointing at best but fake chicken rivals and often surpasses that mechanically separated garbage.

The only thing they haven't got down yet about culturing meat is the texture.

I'd suspect you could use it currently for almost any meat that is ground finely and people wouldn't notice much of a difference at all.

product could be on market in five- to 10 years

For a laugh, I occasionally review the 'Market entry' column on the table in this article.

I've been hearing this '5-10 years' lark for '5-10 years' now.

Honestly, I'm so ready for this.

My biggest issue with meat substitutes is that I'm allergic to soy. Pea protein products often use beets which I'm also allergic to.

I really want to try them but it's usually one of those two ingredients that stop me.

Pumfu though, is great as is lion's mane mushroom crumble. These have helped me go meatless Mondays. They are pricey though.

The "removing the fibers by hand" sounds a bit like deboning a fish 😅

By the way, we already have some plant based ones which taste okay. I mean not entirely indistinguishable, but I think it's close enough for what a chicken nugget is.

Plant are already better but whatever helps

I agree but this is not for people who don't eat animals in the first place. It is for all the people not willing to forgo a certain taste and texture for any reason really. Which is still the vast majority. While we happily disregard the suffering of those not within eye shot we are luckely less willing to ignore the heating up of our planet and the limited space for growing food. So there is really not a viable option for the masses without lab grown meat.

Sorry you're being downvoted so much.
