True crime TV show from probably a decade ago called "The first 48" (it follows detectives for the first 48 hours after a murder because after that the likelyhood of arrest drops by a lot)
They're stumped. No leads that haven't hit a dead-end. The little timer on the screen getting close to 0. In walks this random guy they've never heard of. "Hey I heard that got killed I just wanted to come clear my name"
arrested
