Overview:
Electric Vehicles are a key part of our tomorrow and how we get there. If we can get all the fossil fuel vehicles off our roads, out of our seas and out of our skies, we'll have a much better environment. This community is where we discuss the various different vehicles and news stories regarding electric transportation.

Pilot training is also a great use case. No need for endurance if the whole flight is a takeoff and a landing, and it's sooo much cheaper to fly electric.
True, but pilot training will need to change a bit first. Parts of it are fine in an electric aircraft, but a lot of the PPL-A training is specifically for single engine piston aircraft. And I'm unsure it would be a good idea having to get used to two different aircraft during your training.
Yeah, you can't do cross country with 45 minutes of endurance.
That said, I don't mean the initial PPL-A training, but hour building for example or satisfying requirements for rating renewals.
Our local club has an electric plane, and from what I've heard the main challenge is that it's so light and has so much lift, if you don't come in real slow, you can keep flaring in ground effect for more than a kilometer over the runway.
