Note - where 'Earth-like' is defined as planets analogous to Earth in terms of mass and equilibrium temperature.

"Earth like," in the same way Venus is "Earth like." The universe will torment us by showing just how creative it can be in conjuring new and ever-more imaginative visions of Hell. We will have to scour a billion star systems before we find a world even marginally habitable to life of our kind.
