It already did. Many right wingers here claim the benefit of nuclear is reliable base line, whilst simultaneously claiming EVs and electric appliances are useless because of all the outages.

In practice, coal and nuclear can't stay synced to the grid ( during a major event like a transmission line failure, and the reason rural areas often go out is due to power line failure or other reasons. Which is why there was a major outage in Victoria recently.

If you use batteries and solar, you can decentralize it, and batteries are always synced to the grid because they respond so quickly. And you can distribute them anywhere
