This review is from perspective of a gamer who never had decent PC.
Backstory:
I have steam account since 2014 to play free games available via Steam.
When I was in second grade parents promised me a new PC for homework and games. I worked my ass off, studied like a creep and sacrificed my friendship over hardware I've never got. Family I grew up with wasn't poor or anything, but parents view of video games was sceptical. After I finished forth grade, everything (even exams) were done none lower, than only 8 out of 10 grades (I have 10th grade system), promise was forgotten by parents without any reason.
Since then I only owned Asus laptop with ATI2700 video card that couldn't even run properly HalfLife 2.
During my 11th grade I bought Nintendo Switch as my first console additionally buying Zelda Breath of the Wild. Experience was great, Splatoon 2 launch, Naruto franchise, Zelda DLC + Animal Crossing made my last school days better.
Turning 18th was harsh. Joined military, sold Switch to a guy who wanted to crack it for "free games", haven't got much time to play it after bootcamp.
Saw the SteamDeck release, had a thought about buying it or not, forgotten about it.
Just 2 months ago, got a season job, bought SteamDeck OLED and since March 13th can't get enough of it.
As someone who can appreciate games made since 2012, that never couldn't be played with old Asus laptop, I spent best of my 518€ + 80€ for dock station in my life.
First I played the hell out of Titanfall 2.
60fps campaign, no problems with multiplayer. Man are simple,an is happy.
GTA5 was next. Some confusion running jt, figured out myself that it run okay in Desktop mode. Finished it, men happy.
Mafia 2 was third. Honestly loved the story. Jt was great. Since I downloaded Definitive edition, I was scared of FPS drops or something like that, but SD runned it like champ and had no issues. Man happy.
Battlefield franchise:
Issues to run Hardline. Found Reddit thread explaining how to get over Windows requirement. Will try it out in the future.
Dying Light was perfect. No flaws. Just perfect.
Playing Metal Gear Solid 5 right now, issues to get used to controls with Xbox controller, but it's okay.
Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 was tested.
Running good. Played both on my friends PC, hopes to fulfill my needs during lonely times without Steam Sales.
Update as im writing this:
Downloaded Skyrim and bought Deep Rock Galactic. Hope to finally play with my friends, that actually have decent PC's.
Conclusion:
Money worth. Buy it. Love it.
Men happy.
Happy men confirmed. Girlfriend also loves it.
