Are you kidding me? This is what this sub is now? Entitled assholes returning their hardware because a game doesn't work anymore? Valve has nothing to do with what works on the Steam Deck, and we as a community shouldn't be encouraging shitty ways to circumvent the return policy.

This is squarely on Rockstar, and I think it's shameful that the people who run this sub deemed that post worthy enough to not only keep up, but also to pin.

I expect this post will get me permanently banned from this place, but I hope I'm wrong.

Proud owner of a Steam Deck OLED, but after owning it for a while, I have to say, the docked experience is a complete mess, and almost useless...

I own the official dock, but I've also tried 3rd party docks.

(1) HDR is a hot mess. Even when it's displaying HDR, the colors are all out of wack on my LG C2.

(2) The System resolution settings never work as they are supposed to and it varies game to game. 4K display, set default setting max resolution to "Native" or "Default", many games cap resolution at 1080p. I need to manually set to 4K and turn off auto detect resolution to get 4K to show up in games.

(3) Game streaming sucks. I have a 4080S/7800X3D Machine with a 3440x1440 ultrawide monitor. There's no way to stream in 16:9, so the image doesn't fit my TV display. There's also no way to stream HDR. There's also no way seemingly to output 5.1 audio from the stream. My TV is hooked up to a 5.1 system through ARC, but streamed games only play in Stereo. Even when streaming 1080p in windowed mode (the only way to get 16:9 to show up), the colors are over saturated and completely wrong.

As of now, the $100 dock is the biggest regret with the SD. I basically never use it, because it always requires 10 minutes of messing around to get games to output properly, and even then, it never looks great.

To me, this is a huge area of improvement needed for the Steam Deck. I had a Switch OLED and that "just worked", and SD needs to have that same level of ease of use.

Some games that come to mind are Hades II and satisfactory. What games released in 2024 have you loved playing on your SD?
