I was thinking about whether or not I could give up my PC and just have the steam deck, but I don't think I could since two of my favorite games (Valorant and OSRS) are much better experience on desktop. How do you guys feel about it? For the right person I think it could be viable.

What would you do? I know the question feels obvious. I mean, we have a Steam Deck so we can play our games anytime anywhere. However I’m flying to Tokyo but I don’t really have much space on my baggage to take a lot of stuff and I’m afraid of 2 scenarios:

  1. Take it with me and not use it enough (and regret it for the space)
  2. Not taking it with me and regret it for the free time.

I know I’m overthinking, but still would like to read your thoughts. It’s the first time I’m traveling this far.

Interview to Antiz on the collaboration between Valve and Arch Linux

Last week people discussed about this collaboration between Valve and Arch Linux. This interview with Antiz (Arch Linux member) explains what it will bring to both sides and speculates why Valve wanted to fund these 2 specific projects.

I was playing a simple game yesterday and when I checked the performance I found it was using 5gb of ram and 1.8 vram, which I thought was a lot. Later on I restarted the deck and when I played it again the ram decreased to 2.2gb and vram to 0.9gb.

As a fan of the metroidvania genre, i played all the usual suspects like hollow knight, ori series, dead cells and the lost crown and enjoyed them all.

I had no idea about this game until i saw the console release trailer i saw yesterday and i downloaded to my deck immediately as the price did not seem steep (15 usd).

I did not expect it to be THIS GOOD. I loved Sekiro but could not beat the last boss, however i believe it has the best combat in the souls genre. This game reflects that very well, the artwork and the soundtrack is amazing, yes it is difficult but the game also has a story mode where you can adjust your damage taken and attack with a slider. Did not finish yet, beat 3 bosses only however i am surprised it does not get much attention from the gaming community.

It runs perfect on the steam deck and probably my game of the year after astro bot. If you are a fan of sekiro or the genre, do not miss it. You wont regret it.
