I've noticed many people promote VPNs for torrenting to evade legal troubles in some places. But I wonder how do VPN companies get away with legal complaints? Especially if their servers are located in Germany or Japan, where piracy is heavily penalized.

p.s. I have never used a VPN for piracy, and I have never received any DMCA emails.

Hello. 1st time caller, long time lurker. If I wanted to get a bunch of music videos for a theme party (in this case goth 80s) what would be the best source? Are there like mtv torrents by year or anything to make the collecting less tedious?

We thank you for your support.

Hiya,

Working on completely replacing Spotify completely. Soulseek has popped up a few times here and there among forums and here on lemmy, so I thought I'd give that a go. I've started with getting Nicotine+ client and seems to be working fine. However, what does the traffic look like when downloading/uploading things over the Soulseek network? I read its peer-to-peer network, but does that mean I don't need a VPN? I'm also told to open a port on my router, I'm assuming this is so that I can share my own library with the rest of the network, but how safe is this?

If anyone could help my clarify this I'd greatly appreciate it!

Edit: Just found this very promising project too! https://github.com/slskd/slskd

Archive.li, archive.ph, archive.on, archive.fo, archive.md, and archive.today are all down. Anybody know what's up?

Hi all!

It seems I'm just too stupid to set the preferred/required languages in Sonarr/Radarr.

I'd like to have English, if German is not available - or maybe just a version with both.

I've looked through the trash guides and setup a custom format. But shouldn't that already trigger re-downloads for my stuff or do I need to activate this custom profile somehow?

Sorry, but after paying around for some time, I feel pretty much lost...

Thanks for every hint and help!

When removing a torrent with "Also remove the content files" instead of deleting the files it moves to .Trash-ID, even on headless/docker systems.

Set to delete files: Settings -> Advanced -> Torrent content removing mode: Delete files permanently

Issue https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/21497

PS: There's a pull request to revert back to delete https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/pull/21528

I have seen the silly picture on the old domain.

The onion link I used to use no longer seems to connect, so how do I get to zlibrary now?

Edit: thanks for the responses. I'll try the ones mentioned.

I have a Disney plus subscription through my family and watched a cool animation film yesterday. Sadly the horrible nitrate destroyed all the nice particle effects wich really took me out of the experience.

Are there any sites wich offer high quality streaming or should I look into torrenting for blue ray rips?

With any luck...maybe they'll carry over to simplex. They weren't as free and open as liberashop, but they were still something. Not sure if there are any other alternatives at the moment.

You can search public groups using their search service, just don't forget to add using incognito profile.

EDIT: SOLVED

It's been too long since I pirated anything other than media. I am on an M2 Mac running Sequoia. Be kind!

Do y'all still see the comment section at bottom of torrent details for the tgx sites it has been gone ever since they seem to have gotten rid of the filter options aswell.

Not sure if this is the right place but I exhausted all options that I could think of.

I recently learned there was an (now-delisted) Android app port/game for Space Hulk made in 2013 based on the very same board game and really wanted to have it on my phone. It took some searching, but I managed to get the app up and running on my phone after installing the APK from PDALife and transferring cache files in the Android/obb/com.hoplite.spacehulk folder.

The app itself actually runs great when I'm playing it for the session, but the problem is that it doesn't want to save anything whatsoever, whether it's progress or even basic settings, but I gave it all the permissions it asked for. I attempted running it offline, in airplane mode, reinstalling, deleting cache/data, and even tried adding a folder named "com.hoplite.spacehulk" within my Android/data folder as I read that works for some apps.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra with Android version 14 if that helps

hi guys which extension repo (if any) are you using for anime sources in aniyomi nowadays?

Just a silly shower thought I had after hearing about Nintendo's copyright claim against Russ from Retro Game Corps.

"zomg russian cyber criminals are using free books to fund their lavish lifestyles!!!!!!1!1!!!!1! you should go support ~~corporate rent seeking publishers~~ 'creators' by paying thousands for basic knowledge!!!11"

this shit sounds like it was written by a middle schooler making a history presentation. it's hilarious

According to an official statement on Ryujinx's Discord server, developer gdkchan was contacted by Nintendo and they were offered an agreement to stop working on the emulator project, and while the agreement wasn't confirmed yet, the organization has been entirely removed.

For the uninitiated, this is software for music and it's notoriously complicated. I have a paid version from about a decade ago and I'm not giving them anymore of my money. Reddit used to have a vsttorrents guide for this, but it's been forcibly removed. I'm trying to get Komplete 15 Ultimate, with all the added stuff I'll probably never even look at

Last June, fans of Comedy Central – the long-running channel behind beloved programmes such as The Daily Show and South Park – received an unwelcome surprise. Paramount Global, Comedy Central’s parent company, unceremoniously purged the vast repository of video content on the channel’s website, which dated back to the late 1990s.

Every Daily Show episode since Jon Stewart took over as host in 1999? Disappeared. The historic remains of The Colbert Report? Disappeared. Presumably, one hopes, those materials remain archived internally somewhere, but for the general masses, they’re kaput. Instead, the links redirect visitors to Paramount+, a streaming service whose offerings pale in comparison. (The service offers recent seasons of the Daily Show to paying subscribers, but only a fraction of the prior archive.)

Such digital demolitions are becoming routine. For fans and scholars of pop culture, 2024 may go down as the year the internet shrank. Despite the immense archiving capabilities of the internet, we’re living through an age of mass deletion, a moment when entertainment and media corporations see themselves not as custodians of valuable cultural history, once freely available, but as ruthless maximisers of profit. Those of us who believe in the historical value of accessing media from the past are paying the price.

I've been searching and found nothing. I have season 1

I'm migrating because Transmission is horrible for a large amount of torrents (multiple of hundreds) due to the complete lack of concurrency capability. But I'll miss Transmission. This configuration has spanned many different operating systems and was migrated from transmission-gtk to transmission-daemon.

Translation of all the numbers:

Downloaded bytes: 64.4TB, 58.6 TiB

files added: 26.8 million.

seconds active: 3.84 years

session count: 802 times started

uploaded bytes: 909 TB, 827 TiB

Deezer ARLs (lemmy.dbzer0.com)
submitted 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) by riquisimo@lemmy.dbzer0.com to c/piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com

Where are you guys finding you Deezer ARLs for Deemix etc.?

The megathread post here hasn't been updated in a while. The last ARL expired Sept. 10th. That page does link to a telegram post, but it's also expired.

I don't have telegram, but by incrementing the last few numbers in the URL I was able to find a more recent ARL, but this is a hit-or-miss technique.

I was thinking about getting a telegram acct to follow Firehawk, however telegram works, but I is there a simpler way? I know of YAMS and Lucida, but Deemix is really nice.

Many users here speak the joys of soulseek, but I'm under the impression Deezer would have a higher base-standard for quality.

EDIT: Solved, thanks to this comment. The ARLs list isn't in numerical order. You can search for 2025 (or 2099 even) and find some ARLs that are still active. Thanks everyone!
