As in title, i'm just wondering whether it is possible to rip movie from cinema if one has got unsupervised access to cinema's hardware. Maybe someone did that? I'm not talking about caming, i'm talking about making a digital copy of premiere material.

spotify-downloader is great. I already have an arr stack running for movie and shows. It would be cool to add music to the mix.

I have a shared spotify playlist with friends that I pretty much listen to exclusively as of late. What I'd like is to have an arr app that constantly pulls from that playlist and downloads via spotify-downloader, so that I can listen to those songs from my private server and then I don't need to have spotify open so much.

The ideal setup would be a system where songs are pulled from a spotify playlist, downloaded via spotify-downloader, but later once a higher quality version is discovered, downloads that and replaces the youtube quality initial version.

I can't be the first to think of this, so I'm hopeful something like this is already ready to deploy. Thoughts?

I have a large DVD collection containing lots of niche titles that don’t appear to be on any public tracker. I would like to share my love of these films with the world.

I have access to a server that’s online 24/7 with a symmetric link and no data cap. My plan is to use a docker container with a web transmission instance to seed all of my material through a VPN provider (for my own safety). My server was last rebooted 200 days ago; I intend to rack lots of uptime seeding with my server. I have technical skills and I can ensure I’ll have an open port to accept connections.

Questions: what steps should I take to protect myself in seeding these DVDs? Is there a guide or some recommendations you can provide to get the best quality out of the many hours I’m going to spend ripping? Is it possible to trace the DVD reader that made the rip? Are the cool kids still uploading torrents or is there a better technology I should be using?

Overall, I have plenty of content to share, but I don’t want to put myself at risk when I do.

I would love to seed (and cross-seed) my music library, but metadata tagging and renaming fucks the files up. How do I set up qBittorrent and Prowlarr to keep seeding after retagging?

I remember GOG games (or at least some?), provide separate patch EXE's. I was wondering if there is a compilation of these so I can update Skyrim to the latest version.

Alternatively, if someone knows anything about skyrim, there is an incompatibility with my older version of SKSE and Address Library T_T.

Not exactly directly piracy but since I pirated the material I'm talking about thought it would fit. When I download books I often get both the audiobook and the epub of the same book but most of the audio books are in the format of the whole book in one file. Is there a website or someway to see timestamps on the audio book to relate with chapters in the book. I often listen to the book while cleaning or doing random things but want to read the same book later and having to find the right spot is hard and takes a long time.

TLDR: Download your content offline before it gets lost forever.

From now on you should never trust online hosting, I started seeing a lot of piracy sources( Streaming websites, torrent indexes,.. Etc) get shut down.

So I highly recommend for all pirates to download anything they want offline to reuse and don't trust keeping it online, sadly for me, a lot of material had been lost as there is almost no online service or piracy service has it( I am talking about material that is 5-10 years old.).

I know that this is not the first time piracy websites/hosts gets taken down but this time feels different as it became aggressive and I feel that in the next months a considerable amount of content are going to be lost.

I have lots of torrents downloaded through transmission, which I would like to continue seeding through i2p via the XD client, without having to re-download the files. How do I "move" my seeding to i2p? Do I have to upload the torrents to an i2p torrent tracker, or can I avoid that?

Would you recommend this in the first place?

I've decrypted a few videos of a worldwide event that includes all types of sports and stuff that is now happening in France (can't mention the name explicitly), and I've been able to get the entire opening ceremony and other types of videos. Where can I post/talk to the groups that distribute these videos so I can contribute to them?

One day many years ago I had too many drinks and being stupid and naive and I bought adobe cs5. I still use it on the same computer I installed it a decade ago. Activated and installed only once. Today they revoked the access to it. Clicking the link they say "revoked because purchased from an untrustworthy reseller"

Yeah... untrustworthy reseller, look at the invoice and see who sold&shipped that physical copy...

Contacted support, they said that they won't do anything about it because it's EOL.

Moral of the story: don't do like me. If buying isn’t owning, piracy isn’t stealing. Never give your money to Adobe.

All the principled pirates have jumped ship to lemmy so it was bound to happen sooner than later.
