- there are many germans on reddit
- germans tend to be more privacy aware in my opinion
- and I also think Germany has a large and very dedicated open source community.
- then there are just many german speaking people. lemmy is popular in the west and together with austria and switzerland (and some other areas) you have almost 100 million native speakers.

Nope, you can't fully disable it on android and that's by design. maybe you don't have it in older android versions yet. It's time to switch to GrapheneOS or something similar.
I refuse to watch auto dubbed videos. This is the dumbest "feature" I saw in a while. And the voice quality is also terrible.
