One thing to remember is the supreme Court blocked him from cancelling all student debt.

https://www.cnn.com/2023/06/30/politics/supreme-court-student-loan-forgiveness-biden/index.html

So the timeline (from my memory as I recall it):

  • forgiveness program introduced several administrations ago for public service workers
  • Trump administration found to essentially not forgiving any loans over technicalities
  • Biden comes into office with promise to correct
  • Biden tries to correct in 2022
  • GOP sues
  • Supreme court blocks Biden's efforts in 2023, stating their method was overstepping their powers
  • Biden administration uses existing executive powers to move forward with efforts

From personal experience, refunds aren't off the table. My wife has been a nurse for over 10 years. She just got a refund check from the Treasury stating that she over paid on her student loans. It wasn't an insignificant amount.

Honestly, I wish more news sites would refrain from naming party affiliation. It forces people to think of the content of the statements first.

Isn't this pretty much expected from them by now? They're like that one neighborhood dog that has to bark at you the entire time you're walking by their fence.

If you're using it as a dumb TV, unless it shipped some critical firmware issue that prevents core functions from working (like HDMI input, switching inputs, etc) there shouldn't ever be a reason to update it out of the box.

I've used smart TV's for 10+ years now and figured this out of the awful experience from the first one. Never had any issues with the ones I've never connected to the Internet.

If you make something and give it away for free, that's fine.

If you make something and I sell it to the masses for a profit without your permission that's theft.

The problem I see that doesn't get mentioned enough is he has literally built a cult around himself. This makes it extra difficult to make him face consequences because he can easily turn himself into a martyr in his cult's eyes, which exacerbates the problem even more.

I think the cases brought against him already took so long because they knew they had to be air tight. Any legal wiggle room gives him more ammo to say "See, witch-hunt!"

IMO, the best thing that could happen for America is for him to die of natural consequences. It would deflate his cult as they tried to reconcile him being the god-delivered savior of the US and him just dying suddenly of natural causes. There would likely be conspiracies, as there always are, but it may be enough to snap some of the less radicalized out of this fucking trance he has them in.

We've also seen that his lackeys cannot play his game as well as he can. The hammer would fall easily on those left in his wake.

If someone walks into your house and shoots your family, would you want to know why? Would it be important to you to understand their motives?

Good point, I had forgotten about that nugget in the sea of shit nuggets around that man.

I feel like Twitter (I will always deadname it) was the beginning of the end for him. Unfortunately, things like this can take years or decades to resolve, but whereas 5 years ago he had the midas touch and could do no wrong now there seems to be nothing but a stream of negative news about him.

Time will tell

Yeah, all manufacturer OSes are shit. Don't connect the TV to the Internet and use your own preferred streaming device.

Of course they then argue "You're not doing enough, so you shouldn't do anything"
