Thanks, I did give that a try and didn’t have much of an opinion of it. I’ll give it another try though.

Why are we wasting money on getting cancer cells high? Like, shouldn’t we be killing them?

Thanks for this list.

I played the Metroid game and I love that series.

I’m not sure I liked smt4 too much, but I’m not familiar with the others. I’ll check them out.

I got a 3dsxl about 6 months ago for some Pokémon action, now I need something new.

What are your game recommendations?

I used to be like that back in highschool/college when I was more into cars. It was fun being able to find the small details of the car to single out which year model it was and stuff like that.

Now, I don't have the time or interested to do that any more.

Don’t give them ideas.

I read somewhere that Mac started to get more support for previously windows only apps once they hit 5% market share.

It’s been like a decade since I’ve read that, so who knows the source.

Hopefully there are some performance improvements.

The ecoli is the best part.

Is like a free game of Russian roulette.

About a year ago, Canva tried to raise their prices significantly.

I forget exactly, but I pay for an account and can have 5 people on my team. They said they would start charging for each team member or something like that.

One person said their cot went up from like $100 to $600, maybe the numbers are off, but it’s close to how severe there increase was.

There was so much backlash over it that they decided to keep the old pricing structure.

What good are those 3 games you want to play if they don’t work on the OS you want to use?

It’s just a matter of priority, about 8 years ago, I just made the decision to not play a game if it doesn’t work on Linux.

I recently visited my parents in the US. I keep my retro console collection here and my N64 was missing. So was my Atari Jaguar.

I am still a bit bummed about the N64, but no one is admitting to taking it even though it clearly was taken out of the storage box. Sorry for the rant.

Anyway, I’ll be going to Japan next month and want to replace the console. I figured I can get a decent price on it there.

I looked up region locking and some places say there is a lockout chip and others say you just need to replace the tray.

It will be used to play US N64 games. Can someone offer some guidance on this?

I was doing the final quest of the game in act 3.

There is a quest where you have to get 3 different hearts before you can fight the final boss. After I got two hearts, it told me to go to the place near the starting area and let me progress to the final boss.

After I completed the final boss, I went back and was able to fight Seth and Nyleth.

I am wondering if this was a bug in the game or if you only needed two of the hearts to progress.

If it is a bug, I wonder if it occurred because I fought Seth a few times and gave up to try the others. Maybe it marked it as complete.

I will pickup an m4 air next week when I visit the US.

I tried to find videos on YouTube about performances in games during extending play sessions.

I do not buy this for gaming, but my return flight will take 33 hours due to a layover.

So, how will things like baldurs gate 3, and not switch emulation run on it after 2-3 hours of consecutive playing?

Like I said, I probably won’t game on it at all once I’m back home, but 33 hours is a lot of time to kill.

This game is fun and has me hooked. I finished it after just a few days.

But the game feels incomplete and slightly rushed.

For example, as you progress through the game you can unlock new items to sell, but you unlock some items at the very end of the game, so it feels kind of pointless.

The fast travel system is not super useful as it takes you to places on the map that are kind of inconvenient and the games maps is small enough to just run to the destination just as fast in most instances.

The inventory management system is a bit annoying, you can only pick up stacks of 5 items. Not at the max, but at all. So if you just need to grab one apple to restock, you have to run back and forth to return the excess apples from the stack. You can also get into a situation where you don’t have a place to put an item down and need to trash it instead.

Money is never an issue in this game and there are perks to lower purchase prices, but it’s completely irreverent as you always have enough money.

The reward points you get to unlock things is also a bit pointless as you easy get so many of them that by the time you progress in the story and unlock the next tier, you can just buy everything right away.

The little town seems like there could be so much lore and things to unlock, but nothing happens. I assumed I was only halfway done the game when I finished it as there is so much left unresolved.

I assumed the game was made by a solo dev, but the credits rolled and I was shocked at how many people worked on this game.

So, while it was fun. I would not recommend buying it in its current state. I think it needs a few big dlcs before it can call itself a completed game.

Does anyone genuinely like this? I was relieved to see it can be turned off.

One thing I noticed is that the inactive window gets a shadow on it. I wonder if that can also be turned off.

I’m really debating between these two screen sizes.

I mostly use my computer with a monitor, but will occasionally work on it in the kitchen when it in meetings.

My current laptop is 14” and I’m not sure how much of a difference 15” really is over the 13” model.

What is your experience?

If I get the 13” I might use the savings to get a 1tb hard drive which I think is important to me.

I use a windows computer for work with a usb-c to HDMI hub.

I needed to use my wife’s m1 air, and there was weird distortion on the screen. It was minimal, but noticeable.

I read that this can be a problem with m1 and m2 air models. I plan to get an m4 air in the next few months and I’m wondering if this model has any screen distortion problems on an external monitor.

I do not have distortion problems with any of my other computers using the same hub and wires, so I don’t think it’s a problem with them.

The title really says it all, but I’m self hosting world of Warcraft wrath of the lich king.

I’m just so shocked that it all works to be honest. It’s blowing my mind still.

I always want to play classic wow, but I play so infrequently that it’s not worth paying a subscription.

It never really occurred to me that I could just host my own server until chatgpt recommended that when I was researching things to self hosting.

It’s not public yet as my upload speeds are too slow.

I think I’m going to set the server up on my laptop so I can play wow while on my 14 hour flight coming up.

I’ve always played the game solo anyway due to my casualness.

I’m visiting my home country on the other side of the world in a few months and I want to load up my steamdeck.

I’m thinking of getting deus ex but the collection is just a bit more. Are these games good?

What other games do you recommended for 55 hours of traveling?

I’d love to see a new 2-D resident evil Metroidvania game. This game is basically already a metrovania in 3-D and I just think it could easily be adapted to the 2-D space.

I know this is going to be unpopular with some, but I am seriously considering a Mac and I am annoyed by the idea of it.

I NEED MacOS or Windows for my work. There is one application that does not work in Linux yet and there are no alternatives. It is a critical work application.

With that being said, you can probably guess that Linux is my preferred OS of choice.

I am currently using a Windows desktop for my work, but I do run into situations where I need a laptop. The laptop I am using now is a Thinkpad from 2021 with Fedora. I actually really love this computer. My only real complain is that the webcam is pretty garbage.

So, I think I need a new computer. My choices are Windows laptops which have decent pricing with good specs, or Apple which is extremely expensive for what you get.

I'm really annoyed with Windows' ads, bloat, and general lack of privacy; specifically Recall. On the other hand, it is hard to justify spending an extra $400 on a Macbook air just to get a 1tb hard drive. My work files alone take up a little more than 200gb.

I guess this is just a rant. I'm not looking for any solutions as what I am really looking is the ability to use Linux for my work which is not an option at the moment.
