It’s funny you say this, because for 500 bucks I am actually debating between the two as my Christmas present to myself this year.

I haven’t even hit act 2, but I am having a really good time.
Playing on expeditioner (normal) and have been having fun with the combat system - some boss fights require practice.
Soundtrack is incredible. I find the soundtrack a little loud compared to the voices on occasion, however, and had to turn this down a smidge.
The story is also well set up in Act 1 from what I can tell.
Lavender Town is more creepy.
Ecruteak is kind of depressing with the Burned Tower, but that’s always got a happy ending.
I’m always depressed when I have to go into Lumiose City since it’s giant and annoying to navigate without using Taxis.
On my devices where it’s available I usually set it to 80-85%.
