Well, the thing is, this is exactly what led to the housing crash of '08. Back then it was because the banks were pushing people into it (and then selling the bundled loans as better rated than they were, where inside investors bet on the loans failing). If this is what's happening now, it's certainly because the banks are enabling it again. That would be insanely stupid of the banks after what happened in '08, but somehow we've gotten stuck in the stupidest timeline, so...

The out of state group is the Democratic Governors Association. The Republican Governors Association could have spent just as much money on this race, but they chose not to. Washington isn't going to turn red, so I don't know why the article would expect R's to spend big on a race they know they'll likely lose. What a non-story.

One thing I've noticed about current media portrayals of the 90s is they're all wearing crop tops and high waisted jeans, which are in style now but weren't back then. Baggy jeans, sure, but the high waist was an 80s thing.

Had to replace Rush Limbaugh with something, I guess.

Really think about what you are expecting of yourself at times like that. Sometimes nice restaurants make me feel pressured to have a good time or otherwise "fit in" with the other people eating there.

Maybe it's less popular because so many people buy ice cream to eat with actual apple pie, or some other kind of pie which might taste weird with apple pie flavors.

Yeah, it's early and my brain didn't even register "cancer research org". When I first read the title I thought you were equating people's need to eat with drug abuse.

Wait so according to that quote, if increased police presence in public spaces creates increased violence, the answer is... more police in public spaces? And therefore more violence... This feels insane.

Where and when was that? I've lived on both sides of Washington for 40 years and have never seen any "English only" signs.

Alternatively, if you really prefer the rotating menu thing you could forget the food truck and do a supper club. Typically a reservation-only, once a week or once a month thing, or whenever you have time. If you could find a small local farm to partner with, they may be able to offer you dining or cooking space in return for showing off their veggies or something.

Hey, I think this may actually be fake. Did you notice the URL is nytco.com rather than the one all their news articles typically come from, nytimes.com?

There is a new trend of bad actors trying to impersonate big publications by changing the URL slightly and copying the website design. Some of them are very convincing. This one was hard to figure out because the NYT is indeed owned by NYT Company, but all news articles are posted through nytimes.com (with the exception of only this particular article). When you search for New York Times Company, nytco.com doesn't even come up.

How many hours of content are you watching every day? You don't need all of them. And it isn't some two year contract like cable is. You can cancel or resubscribe anytime. It would be more like if cable allowed you to split your bill into batches of channels and you could choose which ones you wanted to pay for every month.
