My theory is that it will never stop making money because they want less people in society in general, it's a way of trying to kill people off without actually having to do it yourself. As the number of people shrinks due to poverty and being unable to feed themselves, basically mass homelessness, and only the elite few surviving, those elite few won't have to do anything because they already had tons of money, and now AI can do all the hard work that they were too proud to do before. So I think it'll always be profitable. Just not for everyone.

Here in the USA, you have to be afraid for your job these days. Layoffs are rampant everywhere due to outsourcing, and now we have AI on the horizon promising to make things more efficient, but we really know what it is actually going to be used for. They want automate out everything. People packaging up goods for shipping, white collar jobs like analytics, business intelligence, customer service, chat support. Any sort of job that takes a low or moderate amount of effort or intellectual ability is threatened by AI. But once AI takes all these jobs away and shrinks the amount of labor required, what are all these people going to do for work? It's not like you can train someone who's a business intelligence engineer easily to go do something else like HVAC, or be a nurse. So you have the entire tech industry basically folding in on itself trying to win the rat race and get the few remaining jobs left over.....

But it should be pretty obvious that you can't run an entire society with no jobs. Because then people can't buy groceries, groceries don't sell so grocery stores start hurting and then they can't afford to employ cashiers and stockers, and the entire thing starts crumbling. This is the future of AI, basically. The more we automate, the less people can do, so they don't have jobs and no income, not able to survive...

Like, how long until we realize how detrimental AI is to society? 10 years? 15?

In the USA, some politicians or leaders have been able to get away with the most egregious and unbelievable of crimes, again and again simply because the orchestrated them, but they are not the one that actually committed them. Someone else in their network was the one actually doing it, even if they orchestrated it and pulled all the strings like a sly jester. Because of this, you see people in positions of power that should require high moral standing and exemplary personal accountability, who are just corrupt, and openly bad people. Take Matt Gaetz as an example. He's been accused of some pretty awful things, and despite that, was elected to the House of Representatives, and later appointed as attorney general, the highest position of legal authority in the USA. There is nothing moral or upstanding about this person.

So how in the world are the future generations of the world supposed to know what is right or wrong, if those concepts don't even exist anymore? If you can go do all sorts of horrible things and then get elected as someone who represents the entire country, what kind of message does that send to the rest of society? That there's no accountability, that breaking the law is okay as long as you get away with it, And it also gives someone else out there in the world someone to look up to and to aspire to be more like. It gives people who make bad decisions and icon to admire and idolize. It allows other people to seek similar positions of power, and other corrupt people to vote for them, creating a very vicious cycle.

But the actual stupid question: How our younger people supposed to know what's right or wrong anymore then? Our entire belief system of right and wrong was formulated based on doing the right thing no matter what, and having punishments for people who don't. Seems like the world has moved away from that, and there is no more punishment, even rewards for people who do terrible things. I don't understand how the younger generation is supposed to learn and understand

This is a very insensitive and honestly silly comment to make. What makes you think people aren't budgeting? They would have to in order to survive in the world that we live in now but there are major costs that we can't control for example rising housing and rent. Even if we stopped dining out every single day forever, and never got sodas or drinks or anything like that, it would still be a struggle to survive because the price of groceries keeps going up due to corporate greed, it has absolutely nothing to do with people not budgeting. When you budget, and things keep rising in that budget, that's a huge issue

For example, if I budgeted 100% of my income out as 30% groceries, 70% savings, from the year 2005 to 2024, The percentage for groceries would dramatically increase. It would go 30% groceries in 2005, 45% groceries in 2015, 57% groceries in 2024. As you can see, in this simple example, I'm not buying more groceries or changing my investment or budget. All I'm buying is groceries, and the cost of groceries keeps rising infinitely without my pay rising. This is the problem with the idea that budgeting can help you.

Sorry, didn't intend for it to sound man and realized afterwards. I edited that part out. Read my other response. I don't believe it's as easy to unionize here in the USA as it is in Denmark. Denmark is extremely restrictive with immigration and is such a tiny country. If they started losing workers in a large number it would be very difficult for them to replace them. In the USA, we have 50 states, and incredible amount of land mass. People move around quite a bit for jobs, and when people start unionizing, they just fire everyone or make everyone terrified to lose their job. Just look at what happened with The Home Depot, largest hardware store in the USA. Basically, Home Depot lobbies strongly against it and provides severe amounts of misinformation to mislead people into thinking that they're going to be a lot worse off, that they'll get rewarded for voting against unions. These people are basically fighting against themselves and trying as hard as they can to screw each other over in hopes of a reward that never comes. And it's totally perfectly legal, companies can basically paint unions as a nightmare that you will never recover from

You need to organise yourselves better into unions. Then, you strike until you get what you deserve.

It's a system of bargaining. But if you have nothing that they don't already have, you can't bargain. How can you unionize, when they have so many applicants they can just fire you or outsource you to India and your government will never stand up for you? It's not possible. COLLECTIVE bargaining. It doesn't work if a few people do it, and I can't control others.

I live in the USA, and our future seems more bleak than it ever has. Is not about politics, although politicians do have an impact on it. It's really about our quality of life, and cost of living, which has not changed for the better, it seems, in a really long time. The cost of living keeps going up higher and higher, and much of our country still believes that even with increased cost of living, there is never any reason whatsoever to pay people more. So for instance, a job that paid 10 bucks an hour in the year 2002, that same job might still pay $10 an hour now. But I think we all know that the cost of living has dramatically gone up from 2002 to now.

Even White collar jobs though seem to be threatened to now, which is not something I've ever seen before. Positions like analyst, engineer, business intelligence, revenue management, whatever you want to think of. Any corporate office job, people are suffering. The cost of living is absurd, buying a house is simply out of reach unless you have dual income and it better be nearly six figure dual income....

I just don't see how Americans at large are going to survive the next 30 years?

A bunch of juvenile D-Linkuents. Get it? D-Link? Nevermind....

The Democratic party is a lost cause. They NEVER take any responsibility for their actions. What they did this election should even be illegal. They had no primary, so as a Democratic voter, I had no choice in who I was voting for. They picked my candidate for me, and it wasn't even the incumbent! What's the point of a democracy where my vote doesn't matter, because THEY decide who I have to vote for? It's stupid! They keep doing it over and over. Before, they threw Bernie under the bus and backed Hillary whether we liked it or not. They keep making the same dumb mistakes over and over because they just don't care about working class people

This is what happens when you have monopoly status. They're too big to fail.

T Mobile is fucking insane too. Their prices for unlimited plans are just crazy. Easily $100 a month for a family plan

I honestly cannot trust game reviewers after seeing some of the reviews for this exceptional game. What game has ever had a successful issue-free launch in the past 4 years? I can't think of a single one. But all of a sudden they are holding this one to a much higher standard, like where the fuck was that when Starfield came out? Hundreds upon hundreds of fake, completely inflated reviews claiming it was perfect in every single way.

Tbh If I had a friend who has it on Steam I'd probably try it through library sharing but I don't.

Do you like the latest updates? The way the game is headed?

Is your last name is Lizzard? /s

Back in the medieval ages when a woman was married to a man, they were basically considered property for my understanding and treated like an extension of the man's person and family. So it was customary for women to take the man's last name since they were being joined to his family. But now here in the 21st century women are fully independent and last names don't really seem to mean much of anything. I mean what is Smith or McGregor or any last name really mean anymore? Especially in the digital age, lots of people have digital usernames like SarahSmith1727373. So the last name clearly doesn't mean much anymore.... Which leads me to wonder, why do the majority of women still take the man's last name? Especially when some of them have a horrible last name? I have seen some butt ass ugly last names recently, like Fink, Weimer, Slotsky/Slotsky, Hiscock (no joke this is a last name), Hardman.... And then you hear the woman's name and it's like something way more reasonable and less stupid sounding like Kingman, or Harrison, Walls, etc.

One thing I have struggled with lately is finding good games to play. I bounce around from game to game trying to enjoy it but it just doesn't scratch the itch like it used to. For example, one of my favorites was old school RuneScape, but it hasn't really been giving me the same enjoyment that it used to. So then I would open up World of Warcraft, Destiny 2, just playing a little bit of each game. Think maybe I need some new games to play but it's tough to find them these days.

So what are your favorite 1000+ hour games?

I have been really tempted to jump into VR for a little while now, I tried it when the quest first came out, the very first one but it was too blurry and made me dizzy. I've considered getting back into it again, but the thing that has made me really hesitant is I've heard that VR is not in the greatest place and that it's really tough to find good VR games to play. For example, there's Fallout and Skyrim VR but they're not really in good shape, and it takes a lot of modding and tweaking to get them to actually work properly. But I'm curious what other people think. Do you think VR is in a good enough place to be able to play it and enjoy it long-term? Or is it some sort of short-term hype thing?
