I just switched to Summit as I am a mod and this seems to be the only app that sends notifications for reports. Really great job here.

~~I do have one request though. Can we "favorite" communities and have them shown under a separate header in the home/community panel?~~

~~Or at the minimum, I love the moderation sort filter to see posts from all moderated communities, but could we have a moderated community section on the side bar with all our communities listed underneath? It would make navigating to these communities much easier.~~

Thanks for a wonderful app!

Edit: just realized there is a menu to the left where the bookmarks are stored. I had no idea there was an overflow menu here. Perhaps you could add a tripple-line hamburger menu icon on the to left to indicate this. Very happy to see my request for bookmarks/favorites was added.

When sharing links to the app and reaching the post submittion screen, it would be nice to have recent communities appear in the community field when you tap it before you type anything. As a mod and frequent poster, this would streamline the posting process for me.

It is clear that in 2025 this is the best Lemmy app out there, hands down.

I agree, I plan to email them back and let them know.

I emailed support and they confirmed this controller does not support steam input fyi.

So the extra buttons can only be mappable to existing buttons, and the gyro can only emulate joystick movement.

If it gets steam input support I'll consider it but until then it's a no go for me.

This is fantastic news! I didn't know that's where the world's supply of eggs was stored!

They aren't locked out yet, the PSN requirement is in 1 month, and the Arrowhead CEO said they are discussing solutions to this problem specifically. I highly doubt they leave these players high and dry

Needs 2/3rds Senate super majority to leave NATO

In his defense he put in hella hours to get it where it is. I agree he should give more feedback though. He was MIA when someone pinged him in the discord about the breaking changes of 19 and he chimed in and updated it. I was active in the discord and was in the closed beta. He did a LOT of work around the clock. Here's to hoping he comes back with more frequent (even if minor) updates.

Written? Guess we'll have to ban the Bible then

No mechanics released yet, just the name and box art. More details February and launch in March. 3-5 players.

Limit it to corporations of a certain size then. It's not people like your friend that are doing the bulk of the damage. It's large corporations buying up entire neighborhoods to rent them forever.

I used to love playing Pandemic, but now that we actually lived through one, none of my friends want to play it anymore, myself included. I'm really looking forward to Daybreak to hopefully reattain the vibes of the original while still being fresh.

Anyone else here getting it or looking forward to it?

I just read this article and went ahead and preordered this game. It seems like such a fun time. I have a particular friend in mind that I think would love to play this with me. Figured I would share with this community.

Hey Everyone,

I used to play MTG back in the day (sold my decks years ago) but now that I'm a dad the launch of Lorcana has me diving back into TCGs with Lorcana. I've been following news and discussions on other sites. Mainly that other one and on discord. I was wondering how much interest there is in starting an official Lorcana community. I know there is a new one on dbzer0 that is inactive, so I'm thinking of starting one on Lemmy.world and seeding it with content if there are enough people that are interested.

It would mainly focus on news and gameplay discussions. Things like daily or weekly card discussions and announcements. As far as trading and selling I would encourage others to take that to DMs but I wouldn't necessarily be against it unless it becomes an issue (revealing personal info and what not). So it wouldn't strictly be a trading community. Just something to stay in the know, discuss, show off your pulls and collections. That sort of thing.

Mods, if this post is out of line please let me know and I'll remove it. I searched around and couldn't find a better place to gauge interest.

Also, I would be looking to actively build a potential Lorcana community with daily content. Just wanted to mention this so people would have some confidence that I'm not just making it and then doing nothing.

edit: I started it! !lorcana@lemmy.world

We are moving this community to https://lemmy.world/c/ps5

Subscribe here: !ps5@lemmy.world

Why?

Reason #1: Inciting Incident
  • As some of you may be aware, the country of Mali is apparently beginning to take back .ml top level domains. This has already affected other communities and has the potential to affect lemmy.ml (See here for context). This is preemptive act to ensure that what we have build so far is not destroyed.
Reason #2: This community does not align well with lemmy.ml
  • Lemmy.ml is a FOSS focused instance. At the time of the creation of lemmy.ml/c/ps5, lemmy.world was not even on the map. I established this community very early before the reddit migration and wanted to establish it on what I believed at the time was the "flagship" instance for better discoverability. A lot has changed since then, and I believe this change will be in the best interest of this community moving forward. The Admins on lemmy.world have been wonderful and responsive, and I trust lemmy.world will be a great home for us.
  • Other people have personal issues with the lemmy.ml instance and its admins, so while this move will help others who dislike lemmy.ml confidently join our community, it is not the primary reason for migrating.

What will happen to lemmy.ml/c/ps5?

  • Great question. I would love to hear back from other community members on this subject. My initial plans are to pin this thread indefinitely at the top and cease posting news to this community. I will post weekly cross-posts in this community to the discussion threads on lemmy.world/c/ps5, which will have the comments locked, and a comment recommending others subscribe to the new community.
  • For other users posting here, I will still allow posts, but I will comment in each thread with a reminder to post to the new community. I do not intend to lock these posts at this point in time, however if substantial discussion is happening in these threads I may lock them down.

Please let me know your thoughts below!

P.S. Special thanks to @Hurts@lemmy.world for transferring me the new community!

P.S. Special thanks to @Hurts@lemmy.world for transfering me the new community!

I'm looking into the various automods that people have created, but with so many options, I'm curious what the consensus seems to be.

At the minimum, I'd like to get notifications of reports and be able to do other mod actions from within an app on mobile. This way I can take quick action.

Due to the lemmy.world hacking yesterday and their recommendation to reset our passwords just in case, I had to re-login to the app and now I am unable to see all of my subscriptions in the sub list. I have tried unsubbing and resubbing to some communities and they still don't show.

Feature Request #1: Allow toggle to keep top bar visible

  • This is part feature request and part bug fix. I find that scrolling down to reveal the top bar sometimes fails to work, and it only works once the page stops scrolling. I'd prefer it come down immediately when the page shifts down and not wait for the page to stop or my finger to lift. Better yet, I have a tall phone and I would prefer it to remain visible all the time. Thus the toggle request.

Feature Request #2: Allow custom reordering of favorites

  • This one is simple. I love that we can add favorites, but I would love to hit an edit button so that little grabber icons appear and I can drag them to reorder them. I moderate a few communities and they are down on the bottom of my favorites. I'd love to be able to bring them to the top

Feature Request #3 Make Connect show in the Android Share Sheet for easier posting of content

  • Right now if I see a cool article and I click the share option, Connect does not appear in the available options to share content to. Only Jerboa has this option as far as I can tell. This would be really nice. Bonus feature is if this is implemented and takes us directly to the post sheet in the connect app, it would be nice to see if the link has already been posted and where. This is a feature on the website, but isn't even available on Jerboa. This would help others know if they are reposting or not.

Feature Request #4: Correctly show spoiler markdown text

  • I don't think any app shows this correctly yet. Not even Jerboa. When I make discussion posts in my community I have to put in a warning for mobile app users that spoilers will be shown to them regardless of whether spoiler markdown text is used or not.

Feature Request #5: Add mod tools

  • Options like reports, bans, post removals with reasons, mod appointments, and pinning posts aren't available on any app as far as I know. I know this might not be on the top of your list of priorities as most users are not mods, but this would go a long way for those of us that are. Right now I use apps for consuming content, and the website for most everything else. I'd love to just do it all from Connect.

Thanks for a wonderful app! Loving it!
