PC Part Picker has filters that will let you set all your requirements and show you what's available. Since you want ECC and low cost, you might be better off finding options on PCPartPicker and then looking for those items used on ebay.

If you don't have a case already, you might check out Fractal Design. They have several cases for lots of 3.5" drives. I have a Define 6 and it holds like 12 3.5" and 4 2.5" in a midtower format and it's constructed really well. You will need to buy additional drive trays though as they only come with 4 I think.

I've made a couple electronics orders recently where my order seemingly just slipped into a void somewhere (no confirmation email, no tracking info) and then just showed up at my door two weeks later. I think Amazon has made us all forget what ordering things from the internet used to be like.

It's clearly "slurp nook," that nook where you can go to slurp soup as loudly as you want without being judged.

Just get a bigger combination air fryer/toaster oven. They're a total game changer and way more efficient than using your kitchen oven. I haven't found a frozen pizza yet that won't fit inside ours, there's almost zero preheating time, and the air fryer portion works great for fries, tots, nuggets, etc.

I definitely recall reading an article on /r/Futurology about breakthroughs in Hot Pocket technology about a decade ago. Seems those advances have finally made their way to the production line and the sleeves are now no longer required.

Comcast has done some wizardry to finally allow decent upload speeds as of late. For years I've had 900Mbps down and 15Mbps up but with whatever upgrade they've done, I'm now at 900/200 which is decent enough. I honestly don't even need all this download bandwidth and would be happy with 500/500 but most people aren't running media servers and hundreds of torrents so they don't dedicate much to upload bandwidth.

Technology has continued to progress but I think many cable providers are capping at around 100 mbps. I could be wrong.

I think most are offering as high as 1-2Gbps (asymmetrical) with cable. That's what Comcast is offering in our area. With 100Mbps CenturyLink DSL being the only alternative.

POV: you wake up 5 minutes late and someone is pissed that they haven't had breakfast yet.

I find that hilarious since he and I would get into it quite often and I always found his points to be quite juvenile or superficial (like ignoring 99% of what you say and latching on to one single thing to derail the conversation or make a strawman), but I did respect him for having mod powers and never deleting my comments or banning me in retaliation no matter how heated things got.

Last I heard he moved to the UK because of Trump and was trying to get his family over so he's probably got his hands full without the near constant presence on Lemmy that he had. I do find it hard to believe that he isn't still around under another account though with how much time he spent here.

I think also there can be a sense of loss when you're invested in some characters and they die off in a show or the series ends. It doesn't seem weird at all to get a bit emotional unless we're talking about something like Jersey Shore or other reality garbage, but even then that's just my personal taste so I shouldn't judge others who might get invested in stuff like that.

How big are these ZFS snapshots compared to the stored data size? 1:1?

After a few times of pulling them, the pain goes away.

I'm migrating from lemm.ee and just created an account here but for some reason I'm seeing only a handful to zero comments on sh.itjust.works posts even when they show hundreds of comments.

I'm vaguely familiar with similar federation issues where you might not see old comments if you're the first person to subscribe to a community on a different instance, but I don't understand why I can't see comments on posts from what is now my native instance.

Can anyone clarify what's going on?
