The white tree lives. It's the dawn of a new age.
I mean this was like 5-6 years ago so…
How are you there with literally no other tourists in frame?
When I was there in 2022 I don't recall seeing that tree there.
We were the first ones there in the morning at 6:00 a.m. People slowly filtered in but for the first half hour or so, there was almost nobody. It's very promenant and definitely more than 3 years old. Unless Frodo planted the seed and used some of his special dust.
Perhaps we just didn't notice. I don't recognize that angle, so we probably looked at something else.
There are three different tour routes of Machu Picchu. You were probably on a different one.

I was there last month, I can confirm the tree is at least one month old.

Photo from 2019. It's definitely been there a while. I remember that the tree was noteworthy, but not why
You can see two other people to the left of the tree
Omg, good eye!
No more than any other tree by itself in a courtyard. And far less than some.
I need you to take me to south america (⌐■_■)
Very much so. I hope to go there soon; it’s a bucket list place.
How’s the transportation situation? I hear there’s bus operator fight.
Yeah, I heard that too, but we're out of the area now. Agua Calientes is the only town close to Machu Picchu. That's where all the hotels and restaurants are. Whether hiking the Inca trail, or taking the train in, you stay in Agua Calientes. It's about 400 meters altitude difference in a steep climb from Agua Calientes to Machu Picchu. The buses whisk you up and down the hairpin road with efficiency. The only other way is to hike up. About the only thing you can do (other than hike it) is to watch the news and try and hit a trouble-free time.
There's a resemblance to be sure.
