Some people think that it is (i'm not one of those people) but hey, maybe I'm wrong. I was also told a taco and a wrap are sandwiches. I also disagree

Thoughts? Don't turn this into some weird ass struggle session where someone gets banned it's not worth it

Is an open faced sandwich a sandwich or a pizza? stairs

[–] footfaults@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 1 week ago

It's a savory pastry

[–] volcel_olive_oil@hexbear.net 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

the way I eat it it is

fold your slices, people; twice the pizza per bite

put french fries on it now it's a combo meal

any major source of protein makes it a hamburger (distinct from sandwich)

we only have chopsticks

is sushi a sandwich?

rice krispies are bread

A burger is a subset of a sandwich with anything that is ground up and made into a patty, intended to be served on a bun whereby one bun cannot make multiple burgers.

A patty melt, for instance, is outside the burger category.

Depends on if it gets taxed or not; in most cases, if its considered a sandwich, it gets taxed

Meanwhile, affecting what stores in a mall could sell, an Indiana judge proclaimed that a taco was a “Mexican-style sandwich.” Equally random, in New York State, a sandwich can be, “as simple as a buttered bagel or roll, or as elaborate as a six-foot, toasted submarine sandwich…” When you separately buy some bologna, cheese, and bread, these items are not taxable. But if they are combined as the sandwich that you purchase, then you pay a tax. Similarly, in a New York State deli, if you order an uncut bagel and a side of cream cheese there is no tax. But if the cream cheese is on the bagel, it is a sandwich and taxable.

In Ireland, Subway's bread was ruled as too sweet to be classified as bread instead of pastry.

So I suppose if you put enough sugar in the pizza dough, it cannot qualify as being sandwich bread. (But I also think it has to be sliced to be a sandwich.)

I had pizza for dinner, good timing.

Is an open face sandwich a sandwich? Or are they both just flaccid tacos? Language is a mess

[–] sleeplessone@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 week ago

Only if you fold it. Pizza should always be folded (even tomato pies). So yes.
