Or the small matter of public kidnappings.

[–] GlitchyDigiBun@lemmy.world 79 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I 100% agree. However, and I hate that I'm saying this... She is correct. Cost of living is, beyond all doubt, the #1 issue for the American working class at this present time. We are feeling personally hurt in our pocketbooks, regardless of the subjective level of empathetic psychological harm we are experiencing, which obviously only applies to the ones who care for their fellow man.

Truly, if we want them out, it needs to be made very clear that the GOP is not financially in their personal best interests. Selfishness is a far greater motivator to empathy. I may see a starving child, but if I'm starving too? Shit man, I've never starved before. Who knows?

[–] Archer@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Even that isn’t guaranteed. They’ve voted for racism over their finances before, they can do it again

[–] GlitchyDigiBun@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Not a one of them believes that. Yes, it's true, and that was explicitly the reason. But they would swear up and down that they voted for him because of money, not culture wars. A self-selling lie, to be sure, but if you want to understand their reasoning, you need to accept that they do not believe they were/are being self-defeating.

Again, if they believe, beyond their own ability to ignore it, that Trump os bad for THEIR finances, they'll drop him. It's in their selfish nature.

[–] Mog_fanatic@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

It was also very strongly touted to be one of the biggest reasons for the economy being as rough as it is. The brown people are taking your jobs and wasting your tax dollars and murdering your children and eating the dogs... A ton of people voted to get them out to save the economy. The funny thing is a ton of those people are/were the main reason prices aren't higher. It's a self own in like 12 different ways.

[–] FenderStratocaster@lemmy.world 117 points 1 week ago (3 children)

I DARE these House GOP to address the cost of living. As a leftist, I would be so so mad!

[–] Caffeinated_Sloth@lemmy.world 72 points 1 week ago

Yeah I would be OWNED. Very triggered. It would also piss me off if they did Medicare for all and called it Trumpcare. Grrrr I would be so mad.

"Biden and Barack Hussein Obama ruined the economy and the liberals insist on taking all your money to fund DEI and protect immigrants who just want to rape your pets"

She's probably a lot smarter than you think.

It looks like she's positioning herself for 2028. "MAGA is bigger than any one person, even Donald Trump. I'm a maverick like Sarah Palin! I don't mind bucking the party when they are wrong, and I'll fight like hell for the party when they are right! I'll work with anyone to make America Great Again!"

[–] PalmTreeIsBestTree@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I just don’t see a woman being the face of the Republicans anytime soon besides the plastic ones meant to take all the heat in Trump’s admin.

[–] DagwoodIII@piefed.social 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I think the MAGats are going to need a new leader soon, and MTG is as likely as anyone. I don't see Vance getting the juices flowing and Donald Jr. couldn't open a can of soup if he had a battalion helping him.

[–] PalmTreeIsBestTree@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

They will never value any woman as President. TOO DEI AND TOO WOKE…for them

[–] zd9@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

I mean all of those are partially true but she just takes it to crazy levels because it gets her attention, and clearly that strategy works because we all know her name.

Countries all over the world have been using cloud seeding for decades to help with precipitation. Solar Radiation Management (SRM) has been used in small tests to attempt to reflect more sunlight back into space to cool the planet (via marine cloud brightening, MCB), but the other methods such as stratospheric aerosol injection (SAI) has only ever been theoretical or tested at a micro scale.

Israeli intelligence has some satellites that use various forms of remote sensing, which aren't necessarily lasers, but she's dumb so a laser could mean anything to her. The Jewish executive thing is actually just dumb/antisemitic though.

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 49 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I don't care about her hypocrisy. It's good to have any sitting Republican saying these things. It's something, at least.

[–] neidu3@sh.itjust.works 22 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Yup. She's an awful human and way too into 4chan-tier conspiracies, but she is at least (at last) seeing part of what the actual problem is for the average person.

[–] DaleGribble88@programming.dev 19 points 1 week ago

Personally, I think it is because she's a true believer. She's crazy, and too dumb to be trusted to be let in on the grift, so she just fights for what she's "supposed" to be fighting for. While that is normally something awful, the situation does make the broken clock right twice a day.

[–] NauticalNoodle@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 week ago

just wait for it. In time these thoughts and ideas of hers will turn into something terrible.

[–] Boozilla@lemmy.world 31 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This troll just wants to be contrarian to whatever is currently going on, and she tries to grab the spotlight for herself in that manner. Sadly it often works.

[–] phdeeznuts@mander.xyz 23 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Divisions in Trumps base area good thing.

[–] FenderStratocaster@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

But there is no division. This muppet-lookin' shit stain toe the line and vote GOP no matter what comes from her cum injected face flaps.

[–] cmbabul@slrpnk.net 6 points 1 week ago

Leave the Muppets out of this, Jim Henson would never make such a poorly constructed puppet

[–] BlueberryWalnut@sopuli.xyz 30 points 1 week ago (3 children)

I go on a rollercoaster of quizzical excitement to disappointment every time I see a post about this woman. Can we please stop abbreviating her name Magic the Gathering?

I can't handle all this acronym stress in my feed /hj

[–] thegr8goldfish@startrek.website 11 points 1 week ago

I usually call her Dog the Bounty Hunter.

[–] tal@lemmy.today 10 points 1 week ago

Magic the Gathering = MtG

Marjorie Taylor Greene = MTG

Crazy bitch helps set fire to building .... warns everyone that the building might burn down

[–] HeyJoe@lemmy.world 20 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Did they not let her in on their plans? Does she really not know?

I think she just wants the Republicans in Georgia who are skeptical about voting for a Republican regime that aren't fixing anything feep better about voting for her.

This administration lied saying he would bring food prices down to get the lower and middle class Republicans support. Soon as he won the election before taking office started changing his tone to, well we can't really bring down prices as that would be hard/bad.

Then now he's starting to say we can increase imports of beef from South America to try to decrease beef prices.... Which is a slap in the face to every Midwest/ranching state that voted for him on cutting imports, increasing exports, America first bs. While wanting to be racist against everyone Hispanic.

She's in the stage of, I need re-election so start telling the voters I want to help the again.

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 16 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (3 children)

She does have a point. Republicans may be doing everything they can to rig the districts to keep their majority, but that district-rigging is based on historical trends regarding where likely partisan voters are. It can very easily backfire if there is a shift in the electorate.

What I am hoping for is that Republicans get thoroughly trounced in the midterms, so badly that the nerds realize that Republicans would have been better off with the old maps.

But that isnt really all that likely, is it?

If we have elections, you're going to lose the House either way fash.

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 15 points 1 week ago

Kind of hard to positively address something you are actively running into the ground.

[–] Snowclone@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago

even the dumbest people can see there's a massive problem. hilarious.

[–] MourningDove@lemmy.zip 12 points 1 week ago

She’s no more than a bilge rat that sees the ship is sinking.

[–] blave@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I think there is tremendous probative value in tracking her Socio/ideological progress and evolution from about a year ago and proceeding over the next few years because… I hate to say it… But she seems to be the exact type of right wing idea log who is starting to question their beliefs and possibly evolve away from the extreme right.

Well, we all may have the motivation to mock her, and I am not in anyway, suggesting that she should not be held accountable for the years of being a tremendous piece of shit, I think there is serious value in not only encouraging her sociological, awareness, progress, but in understanding how and why it’s happening, and seeing where it might go.

[–] WindyRebel@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

Ideologue, but I LOVE that she’s an idea log. 🤣🤣 🤣

I think she does want to do good for people, but she’s still a shitty person whose “good” will mostly affect people like her rather than what AMERICA is/should be. She strikes me as more of the old school conservative but a little more extreme and just not understanding what MAGA is. I guess that’s the Tea Party?

It's all planned. She's the "good cop" in the plan. Never trust America.

Stop branding yourself as American and identifying as an American even if your stuck living here.

[–] evenglow@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

She's positioning to be the sane good MAGA President alternative to Trump when the coup picks up.

Remember, it doesn't have to make sense. It just has to make sense to 77 million Republicans who thought a 2nd Trump term was a good idea.

Best they can do is shutting down the whole government in order to take away millions of American's health insurance.

[–] lka1988@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 week ago

A broken clock is still right twice a day.

And because some people always misinterpret that statement as "support": This does not mean the clock shouldn't be replaced.

[–] Professorozone@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

No they won't because the supreme Court is going to allow them to gerrymander based on race and they'll pick up 13 seats.

There it is. “Stop being crazy so I don’t lose my power or position!” It was never about what’s right, just her job security.

[–] teawrecks@sopuli.xyz 5 points 1 week ago

It's literally the only reason they won the presidency, and they know it. Their goal never to address any issues, but instead make it impossible to lose control in time for midterms. Did she not get the memo?

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

The GOP has always knifed the working class while pandering to their bigotry

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Republicans have done an excellent job of selecting their voters. They'll survive the mid terms, then come back and sweep the next election cycle

[–] ChonkyOwlbear@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Oh don't worry. Trump will fire up a new war with Venezuela just in time for the midterms. That will distract voters enough for him to keep doing whatever he wants.

[–] Wilco@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 week ago

MAGA needs an enemy, and an outspoken enemy is best.

The enemy they chose (transgender) is just not vocal enough, they aren't putting up an entertaining fight. Other MAGA politicians are vocal ... so she could attack them.
