7. No duplicate posts.
If a source you used was already posted by someone else, the autoMod will leave a message. Please remove your post if the autoMod is correct. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners.
The auto mod will contact you if a link shortener is detected, please delete your post if they are right.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

This is absolutely insane and highly illegal. The government cannot just kick down a whole apartment building full of doors, enter homes, and arrest people at random without a warrant or exigent circumstances. The law is quite settled on this.

The "law" is being ignored as it was in pre- Nazi Germany when the brown shirts started arresting and beating and intimidating people. There is no law currently.
The big problem is that there IS law: the kind that favors the government. As of right now, people can't go out and crush some ICE without the courts and police doing something about it.
See thats the fun part is ICE generates their own warrants without any attorneys or judges involved.

I've watched documentaries and studied the rise of Hitler and the Nazis, I don't think Trump will get that powerful. Germany was in bad shape post WW2, and Hitler was quite young, energetic and commanding with a clear vision for his future. Trump is old, tired, and has broken too many promises to his base.
As long as the press mostly stays free, and journalists don't face punitive measures for their reporting, Trump will come and go.
The problem is that Trump is speed running the country into shithole status (economically, I know we were already there on the healthcare, housing and wealth inequality fronts).
And the smart assholes with ambition are running the show, Miller, Vance and Johnson.

Refusing to vote brought the war they were protesting to their homes. As I've said all along.

This is just my own speculation, but I think we are seeing a new group of techbros, for lack of a better term, jostle for their seat at the table. We as a nation have refused to expand our positions of power even though we've grown in size. For example, we have a capped number of Senators.
We've funneled so much new money into the hands of these tech elite they have near run out of places to spend it. So we have multiple private space companies, a booming apocalypse bunker industry, and why not buy a few representatives as well. My point is a bunch of Ayn Rand 1950s sci-fi loving man children who control resources as vast as they do present a terrible condition for democracy and human rights. We are just watching this power struggle between the old guard and the new kids play out in real time. And the women, immigrants, and LGBTQ+ communities are the first to be rounded up this time.
